Spirit Week 2019 Update
 
Spirit Week has been officially announced and all sign ups are posted! DO NOT WAIT until the last week to get all your tryouts hosted and sign ups posted as late sign ups WILL NOT BE PERMITTED. You have 2 weeks to accomplish this so get it done. There have also been some edits to the announcement found on the forums, as it was posted sloppily the first time so please revisit it if you have not already. Its Spirit Week y'all so get hype and encourage your members non stop for participation and to better their KSI experience!
 
Subscription Push / Donor Event
 
IMPORTANT: It is a huge, huge thing for us to have all the members who can subscribe/donate to our twitch channel (twitch.tv/KSILive). Subbing is only $5 per month or is absolutely free if you have Amazon Prime. All of the money donated goes right back into our annual events in the form of prize money, give-aways, and gift-cards. IF YOU HAVE ALREADY SUBSCRIBED, please make sure that you have posted for yourself on the forums under the AAP section to receive your award and VIP access on the forums. This will be required in order to participate in any Donor Events for the foreseeable future.
 
Push for Community involvement Universally:
 
To all members in the community, specifically the leaders: Get involved in departments and Div Cup. These are 2 crucial components to this community and it is the duty of every member and leader, to at least try to get involved with them and if not, push those around you to do so. Again, why not optimize your KSI Experience by trying everything that you can to see what it is that you want to do in your career with us?
 
Transparency
 
Divisional & Squad Leadership - Please remember that although every decision may not be one open for discussion/debate, It is important to be as transparent as possible with the leaders and members beneath you. When making decisions about what direction a squad/division heads in or any promotions/demotions that may be received, It is important to keep those under you informed as to why these things are happening and why certain decisions are made. The ultimate way to reach a feeling of inclusion and family is for people to have their thoughts and feelings taken into consideration.
 
Invite only parties
 
It is important to remember that during peak hours officers should not be in invite only parties. It sets a bad precedent for our members and might make them think that we don’t want to include them. Sometimes we have to be in invite only parties for meetings and lockdowns but for the most part we can and should be in open party's interacting with other people.That is the reason why we joined KSI.

 
Positivity
 
Make sure that when we as leaders are dealing with issues that we are not venting towards or creating an air of negativity. It is our job, as leaders within the community to handle and address issues as they come up, doing our jobs should never impact our members and their experience.
 
HSI Stats
 
Please make sure we are getting these done and back to your Directors in a timely manner. This is not a hard process to complete and we only ask for them once a month. This helps track your Divisions growth and History. We all need to work together to make sure our Divisions have accurate History for the future members of KSI to look upon.

No Excuses
 
As a member of KSI, it is important that you hold yourself accountable for both your knowledge and actions on a daily basis. This fact however, rings especially true for all ranking members of SSGT or higher. The excuse of “I was never trained how to do this” is NO LONGER VALID. There are infinite resources around you via fellow officers, divisional leadership, senior leadership, and most importantly, the forums where all practices and procedures are documented for replication. If you don’t know how to do something, look it up or simply ask and those around you will help.
 
Holiday Meetings
 
Remember that Squad and Officer Meetings can be rescheduled if they fall on a holiday. With that in mind send one invite maybe two but DO NOT spam invites till they join. Our members and officers deserve to enjoy holidays with their loved ones.   
 
OMEGA Update
 
It is really important as leaders within the community to ensure we are making sure we are logging into the Omega on a regular basis. We have noticed a number of people not logging in days at a time.EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, once someone reaches the 7 day mark, unless you are on an approved leave of absence your Omega account will be automatically suspended and further repercussions shall occur. Warning 1 results in Rank suspension, strike 2 results in demotion.
 
Support Each Other
 
As an officer it’s important to show support for your fellow officers. If a fellow officer is hosting a game night and your online either by yourself or with fellow squad mates you can and should join the game night and bring the others with you. We all know what it’s like to have no one show up to a game night but we can support each other, we’re all in this together.
 
Recruiting Techniques
 
When we are out recruiting, after a while using the same methods and techniques can make it seem a little stale and sometimes we won't see the same results. Change your methods, try using a different message, perhaps jump into a recruiting party, there are numerous ways to alter the way you recruit. If you feel you are out of ideas, reach out to other members, officers and 7's.

HSI will be voting on the Spotlight Award nominations and the winners will be announced within the next couple weeks. The winners will then be contacted and interviewed by a HSI Staff representative and have a Spotlight article posted about them on www.ksiglobal.org. they will also receive either the Member Spotlight Award or 7s Spotlight Award.

Reaching Out 
Sometimes when being an officer within the community situations can come up that you may not have the knowledge or abilities to handle. There is no shame in reaching out to someone to ask a question or get some advice. There are many people within the community with a plethora of knowledge and advice they can share with you! Don't be afraid to reach out.
 
Maintaining the Omega (Generals)
Please make sure squad members game-types are set to the correct game-type to the squad they are in. It is also essential that we are ensuring that Privates are being trained and moved up in a timely manner. Once a Private reaches the 2 week period, you need to be asking yourself "Is this person fluff?". It is also just as important we are ensuring all Corporals are active in some capacity and not just fluff.
 
RCTs and RCT Club
RCT Clubs need to be maintained and cleaned up. This means that ALL officers SSGT and up should be on the clubs so they can see when RCTs are ready to train. Also make sure that RCTs are removing the club at training. Lastly be sure to remove people that have left KSI or that are no longer an officer in your Div. I understand that there are some names on these RCT Clubs that just will NOT delete, we need to make a list and keep track of it somehow so when your Dir or Sr Dir come asking you have answers for them. We are open to ideas to how or where we can store these list.

Reason:  Firstly their psychology is complex, a quote from Cersei Lannister - "Everyone who isn't us is an enemy". Next they're less predictable. I mean without giving too much away for newer GOT fans, the way that Jaime Lannister goes about in the first few season just shows how unpredictable they are. Clan Ops Notes
Venting
As a member of KSI sometimes situations can get stressful and in some cases irritating. It's important that as members of the community we are venting "Upwards" and not "Downwards". With so many people and so many differences of opinions it is understandable that at times we may butt heads. Please remain professional and if you feel you need to vent a situation out to someone, then you are doing to someone who is not directly involved and not below you in rank. If people are bad mouthing other members and less experienced members hear this, it can leave a 'bad taste'. Please be smart when venting.
 
Knowledge,Strength and Integrity 
It's important sometimes to go back to basics and look at our fundamentals, Strength, Knowledge and Integrity ! Sometimes these things can be lost it the busy day to day KSI business! We must always honour our values and work to uphold what KSI stands for and what it truly is about!
 
Re-admission Policy 
When TSB were at the height of their attacks we needed to ensure our members were safe and they were banned indefinitely. Over the course of time, some of the "not so toxic" member could potentially have someone post a proxy post for them (Gen or higher) on the forums and take it from there. Venting
As a member of KSI sometimes situations can get stressful and in some cases irritating. It's important that as members of the community we are venting "Upwards" and not "Downwards". With so many people and so many differences of opinions it is understandable that at times we may butt heads. Please remain professional and if you feel you need to vent a situation out to someone, then you are doing to someone who is not directly involved and not below you in rank. If people are bad mouthing other members and less experienced members hear this, it can leave a 'bad taste'. Please be smart when venting.
 
Knowledge,Strength and Integrity 
It's important sometimes to go back to basics and look at our fundamentals, Strength, Knowledge and Integrity ! Sometimes these things can be lost it the busy day to day KSI business! We must always honour our values and work to uphold what KSI stands for and what it truly is about!
 
Re-admission Policy 
When TSB were at the height of their attacks we needed to ensure our members were safe and they were banned indefinitely. Over the course of time, some of the "not so toxic" member could potentially have someone post a proxy post for them (Gen or higher) on the forums and take it from there. From there it is down the the moderators as to whether there application is processed etc. The policy applies to ANY and ALL former members of a Hydra Alliance clan/community

LEAD 101
LEAD 101 is a development course with the goal of increasing not only one's knowledge, but also your ability to think critically. There are several sign ups located in the Education area! Anyone from a SGT upwards are eligible to sign up! So if you want to expand your knowledge check it out!  
Forums Updates
 
It's important that we are making sure we are being active on the Forums and pushing all members to also be active. The earlier people are introduced to the Forums the better. It gives people a chance to get familiarised with the layout and general navigation on the forums as it can be daunting at first. Then when they become an officer they will already know the basics.  
Forum Conduct Policy: Up-voting/Down-voting
 
When utilizing the forums, there are several liberties and features members can utilize, primarily the ability to up-vote and down-vote certain topics and posts. We in clan-ops leadership want to make our stance on this feature perfectly clear: these features are NOT to be used in petty or unprofessional manners. Examples being: Up voting court case rulings not in favor of members or application denials in the rejoin/join area
Down voting divisional transfers for fellow members
Regardless of how you may feel in the moment, keep that to yourself and act appropriately. Our goal in KSI is to provide happiness and safety for our members. Petty actions making them feel bad for their personal decisions will not be tolerated, no acceptions.  
Discord and Omega Access Uniformities 
 
Divisional leadership, it is important that we keep uniformity between Omega access and Discord access for all 7s. Although co-founders in your division share what squads they are directly over, they should have access to see all squad chats as well as see all squad details on omega. As we push for more quality and in-sync divisional leadership, it is important to understand that as a 7, you should be aware of all things in your division, not just what you are specifically over. If this access is not currently shared by your divisional leadership, please contact your director/
 
Head Hunters Conduct 
 
Obviously Head Hunters is designed to bring out the competitive side of our talented players as they square up head-to-head with fellow divisions in the community. This being said, it is important to remember that we are still all part of the same community and should treat each other with respect and a professional attitude as stated in our philosophy and Code of Conduct. Play, have fun, and compete but do so gracefully. Thank you so much to all of the viewers who tune in every Monday for #MondaynightMadness !

Havoc has been the Division Leader over DW for quite sometime now and he is also AG over my squad, Hannibal! Havoc is one of those leaders who is easy to follow and you always want to help him because you know he is always willing to help whoever needs it. In the past I have seen leaders who do not make an effort to get to know each and every member coming into their respective division. This simply is not a factor in Havoc's case! Havoc makes a huge effort to not only meet new member but, ask them questions, get to know people on a very human level and listen to what they are saying. Havoc is a great leader not only over this entire division but, as and acting General over my squad. He is able to recognize potential in anyone and is always motivating us and allowing the officers to say their peace. He is always there when you have a moment of questioning or need help being reminded of your "why".

Reasoning why the deserve this - Bane or as I like to call him Bane' is the General over Samurai. He is very well liked and respected by all the members of DW. I know Bane has been around many different squads and divisions in this community but, it seems like he has found his home.

Reasoning why they deserve this - Minion or as we all call her Mini is a staple to this community. I remember the days were she didn't know what she was capable of. Now she has effectively found her way. She is ALWAYS in a party with her squad members. She likes to get to know members on a first name basis and is notorious for falling asleep on us because she is so far ahead with her time difference being in the UK. Nonetheless, Minion is a reliable member of KSI! she has a real knack for seeing the worth of any and all members regardless of rank. I look forward to the day Minion is running her own squad and one day is Senior leadership in this community.
Minion has not been in News for long! She is already sharing her ideals with the Department and helping with the overall betterment.

Hatter is our resident Editor and is always really amazing at keeping the integrity of an article while still meeting the required perimeters that she has to abide by. No matter the question she always seems to have and answer. Hatter is like everyone's mom and personal secretary/liason.

Raging has been in KSI for a relatively short period of time. It took him a fair bit to be able to change his GT.  Since day one he has been radiating with KSI Spirit! Raging makes no hesitation to share how much of a family we are. He has made his presence quite apparent by always joining in on any activity he possibly can. If you shoot him a message he will hop online and is a good sharpshooter if you  need someone to have your back in a video. I look forward to seeing him progress in the community it's refreshing to see the positivity he shares in a member regardless of rank or status.

LEAD 101 - Week 2: Code of Conduct and Open Door Policy
Welcome!
LEAD 101 is a development course with the goal of increasing not only one's knowledge, but also your ability to think critically. Below you will find the sign up for this round of LEAD 101 classes. This is a 6 week commitment, and unless otherwise specified by the Education Mentor in charge of the class, the class will take place on the same day, at the same time very week. Since KSI operates in EST/EDT that will be the format given for the times listed. These sign ups are first come first serve, with prescience given only to those who are attending the full six weeks of the coarse with the same mentor as well as to those who have not taken the coarse previously. There are only 10 spots for each class! If you can not attend a class, it is YOUR responsibility to communicate with your mentor.

TIME: 5pm EST 
-To receive credit for completing this course you must attend all six classes for completion as well as participating in each class. It is at the discretion of the mentor if your participation was sufficient enough to receive credit.

Being Vigilant 
With recent potential threats coming up recently, we feel people need to be extra vigilant when accepting invites to partys, games, chats etc. If we are being vigilant it reduces the amount of people to potentially be hit offline. Be smart and check activity feeds, profiles and friends if you aren't sure

SoTW Week 1 2019 is going to open up on the 22nd! Anyone can participate! You do not need photoshop or any "professional" software to par take in these events!! Just check in about the rules and stay within size and theme limits! Theme is going to be announced when it opens! Closes on the 31st! 
Speaking of SoTW, this year we decided to include this in the div cup! This first SoTW will count towards it
If you do have photoshop, and would like to be apart of the team that makes designs used through out the community, we have a spot for you! NOTE  Please have some experience with photoshop, on the pc, before applying. The application does require some of your work and will not be considered without it.

Clan Ops Notes
 
LEAD 101
LEAD 101 is a development course with the goal of increasing not only one's knowledge, but also your ability to think critically. There are several sign ups located in the Education area! Anyone from a SGT upwards are eligible to sign up! So if you want to expand your knowledge check it out!
 
Being Vigilant 
With recent potential threats coming up recently, we feel people need to be extra vigilant when accepting invites to partys, games, chats etc. If we are being vigilant it reduces the amount of people to potentially be hit offline. Be smart and check activity feeds, profiles and friends if you aren't sure
 
Forums Updates
 
It's important that we are making sure we are being active on the Forums and pushing all members to also be active. The earlier people are introduced to the Forums the better. It gives people a chance to get familiarised with the layout and general navigation on the forums as it can be daunting at first. Then when they become an officer they will already know the basics.

SoTW Week 1 2019 is going to open up on the 22nd! Anyone can participate! You do not need photoshop or any "professional" software to par take in these events!! Just check in about the rules and stay within size and theme limits! Theme is going to be announced when it opens! Closes on the 31st! 
Speaking of SoTW, this year we decided to include this in the div cup! This first SoTW will count towards it
If you do have photoshop, and would like to be apart of the team that makes designs used through out the community, we have a spot for you! NOTE  Please have some experience with photoshop, on the pc, before applying. The application does require some of your work and will not be considered without it. 
 
Productions
With March coming to an end we would like to thank everyone who submitted a Clip and/or Montage in this Month’s Clip and Montage Submission.
Make sure to look out for April’s Clip and Montage Submission. Encourage all of your fellow members to submit because points will start to count towards the 2019 Div Cup.

LEAD 101 - Week 1: Leadership
Welcome!
LEAD 101 is a development coarse with the goal of increasing not only one's knowledge, but also your ability to think critically. Below you will find the sign up for this round of LEAD 101 classes. This is a 6 week commitment, and unless otherwise specified by the Education Mentor in charge of the class, the class will take place on the same day, at the same time very week. Since KSI operates in EST/EDT that will be the format given for the times listed. These sign ups are first come first serve, with prescience given only to those who are attending the full six weeks of the coarse with the same mentor as well as to those who have not taken the coarse previously. There are only 10 spots for each class! If you can not attend a class, it is YOUR responsibility to communicate with your mentor. You can only miss 1 class or else the entire course must be retaken. 
MENTOR: KSI Gary 7
DAY: Wednesday 27th March
TIME: 5pm EST
To receive credit for completing this course you must attend all six classes for completion as well as participating in each class. It is at the discretion of the mentor if your participation was sufficient enough to receive credit.
