On behalf of the AAP (Awards and Achievement Program), I would like to apologize for the lack of consistent 'Of the Month' award opportunities. With the help of our new staff, the 'Of the Month' awards will be starting up for the month of June. If you are interested in assuring the most deserving leaders and members of KSI the awards they deserve, make sure you pitch their accomplishments along with the reasons they deserve to be recognized as KSI's best.

Fierce Alliance is going to be going through a lot of reconstruction and fixes. This division is headed to hell and I'm not gonna allow this to happen. We can fix this but for it to work we cannot allow it to get any worse.Â

The first objective is to see what squads this division has, I have seen like 10 squad names and I know of like 5. Once we figure this out we are going to start working within these squads.

Next thing we are going to do is to make sure each squad has a squad tag and a general. If they have both we need to figure out who has the squad tag for each squad. Once we figure this out I will be taking the squad tags and doing some "Appearance Maintenance" and making them look good. The next thing I will do is within a week is purge all inactives, there are no exceptions for this, if they aren't active now they arent going to be active later. After this is done I will be personally updating Access Denied to a T. Then if I think the General can be trusted I will return their squad tag to them.

After this is all done I will be working with the Generals to make sure they are all trained properly and if not I will put them through a weekly training process in which they will be ready not only to run a squad after but then to eventually run multiple squads. These training sessions will be mandatory if I feel the member needs it. If the General does not come they will be officially terminated from their position. This may seem like a dictatorship but if I don't do my job I'm replaced... So if you don't do your job your getting replaced.Â

After this I will work with the Generals and their officers and the Officers will be properly trained within a week. Also these officers that are trained will be working with sergeants and takin member under their wings to eventually help and take their spot.Â

The next thing is myself and Heavy Duty will be introducing the Recruit Tag program and it will be used. This will also come with getting Privates to get name changes.

While this is all going on leaders in FA will be signing up on the forums and starting to get active and get the lower ranks active.

The Captain rank is the second officer rank in KSI. A Captain’s main function in the squad is to oversee the ranks below them and handle all squad activities and events with the exception of meetings. Captains are an essential part of the squad and carry out most of the squad tasks. There are four Captains per squad, with each Captain being ranked in number order from 1 through 4 based on seniority and leadership ability. With new responsibilities added on to the responsibilities of a LT, a Captain has a wide range of responsibilities in a squad.

There are many requirements in order to become a Captain. First you must have been at a Lieutenant rank for at least 1-2 weeks. You should have at least 20 or more recruits by now. You need to be active with your squad meaning you are involved in the recruiting and squad events that go on. You also need to be seen as a leader in your squad by the members below you in rank. You need to have trained your recruits and mentored them to become leaders within the squad. To move up you must have replaced yourself with a suitable new Lieutenant that you have trained by helping that member achieve all the requirements in order to become a Lieutenant.

Situations:

1. You are in a meeting your general asks you to take meeting minutes/notes.

A. You should write everyone who was in the lobby name down, and then write the topics went over at the meeting. The format for meeting minutes/notes could be found in the meeting minutes/notes topic.

2. A Lieutenant comes to you and asks for advice on how to train a replacement in order for him/her to rank up.

A. Tell the Lieutenant to help a Sergeant obtain at least 10 recruits and to help the Sergeant become an active member of the squad by making sure the Sergeant attends the squad events. In addition to this, the Lieutenant must also ensure that the Sergeant is remaining active with his/her recruits and the rest of the squad outside of squad events.

3. Your General asks you to train a Lieutenant to become a Captain in order for you to eventually be promoted.

A. You must spend time with the Lieutenants in the squad and determine which Lieutenant has potential to become a Captain. You can do this by observing how the Lieutenant interacts with the lower ranking members of the squad. You should be looking for leadership characteristics as in teaching members various things about KSI and being motivational to the members by giving them praise on their accomplishments and not criticizing them on what they do wrong. Next work with that Lieutenant by mentoring him/her on how to encourage members to be productive within the squad and how to stay motivated enough to continue being productive to the squad over time in recruiting and activity. Make sure the Lieutenant works to accomplish all the requirements listed in the second paragraph of the Captain training manual. And when ready that Lieutenant will become a Captain.

4. A group of members within the squad come to you complaining about a Private who was yelling out racial profanities while they were playing in a public match together.

A. First get a hold of the accused Private and see his side of the story. Gather information from both sides and make a decision on who is telling the truth. If you feel the Private was in fact yelling out racial slurs, inform him that he has broken the code of conduct and speak to the General about removing him from the squad. If a group of people have a side of the story over just one accused person, there is a slim chance they are lying.

5. It is time for your squad meeting but your general is nowhere to be found and has not contacted anybody regarding his absence.

A. First, try to get a hold of a Co-Founder, Founder, Co-Division Leader, or Division Leader and inform them of that is going on. If none of them are able to be contacted, hold a private lobby and hold the squad meeting to the best of your ability. Try to run the meeting just as your general would have and cover any topics you feel necessary. By doing this you show that you took the initiative to make sure the meeting was held even if it wasn’t your job. Going above and beyond what your rank requires is how you can earn promotions and prove to be a leader in KSI.

Understand that this is merely a guide and a recommendation on how to conduct your recruitment speech. The quotes under each part of the Code are suggestions of things to say. Regardless of whether you read this word for word or adlib, make sure that the general idea behind each additional statement is the same and that you DIRECTLY QUOTE the Code of Conduct. KSI's CODE OF CONDUCT

In order to maintain the high standards of membership in KSI, and to continue to represent the KSI community, all members MUST understand and abide by the following "Code of Conduct".

1. Every KSI member must read and understand the Xbox Live® Terms of Service and Code of Conduct.

“Obviously, you play on Xbox Live and had to agree to the terms of service in order to participate in XBL, so it goes without saying that we expect you to follow the guidelines outlined therein”

2. KSI does not tolerate discrimination, racism, or harassment, by or towards, any member of KSI in game lobbies, chat forums, or gaming situations of any type.

“When you are participating in the forums, XBL or any other activity that is part of the KSI community, you represent KSI, even in non-KSI related games if you have changed your gamer tag, and you should represent KSI in a positive fashion. You made the decision to be part of this community and you should, by example, encourage others to do the same. Do not make fun of anyone because of their race, gender, religion, region of the world, accent, etc… Treat everyone with respect.”

3. Leaders within KSI are responsible for: the organization of all squad matches and practices, posting match scores, maintaining professional game play during squad matches, and oversight of performance and behavior of lower ranking members.

“This doesn’t apply to you yet, since you are a new recruit, but it should inspire you to gain higher ranks so that you can start to take part in the employment of these activities as a leader. Additionally, this also gives you a guideline of what to expect from your leaders so that you can, politely and with tact, help them make sure that they are setting the proper example and leading effectively. If you see something that seems “off” then you should work to get promoted so that you can have more influence in taking care of your other members.”

4. A KSI member: NEVER LEAVES ANOTHER KSI MEMBER BEHIND.

“This is pretty self explanatory. If a member goes down in the game and can be revived, then revive them. It also applies to other situations though: If a member has a question, concern, or other issue that you can help them with, please do so. We like to think of KSI as being a family and the way that we promote that way of thinking is by taking care of each other.”

5. All members have an "Open Door Policy" to speak with Leaders and Founders on any issues or with any ideas.

“You, as a member of KSI, have the right to talk to your leadership about issues, both your own and ones within the squad/division/clan. However, please make sure that you follow proper protocol and take the issue to your LT or CPT first so that they are aware of the issue. No one likes to be blindsided with an issue and it is respectful to let your immediate level of leadership know/try to help before it must go higher. Additionally, you can post any issues on the forums, which are an invaluable resource and tool. Check out my bio for the address and make sure to sign up for the forums. You will be able to meet other members and build connections with hundreds of other players on XBL. Once you register, make sure you check your email and validate your logon so that you can start posting.”

6. A KSI member takes pride in his or her membership and is encouraged to change their gamer tag within 60 days.

“You absolutely do not have to change your gamertag in order to be a happy and successful member of KSI. Many players are just casual gamers that want to have a large player base to associate with. However, if you want to get promoted to the rank of SGT or higher, then you will need to change your gamertag in order to reflect your affiliation to KSI. By changing your gamertag, you are advertising KSI in any game that you play on XBL, even outside of the regular KSI games. This is a good thing! When you change your gamertag, you are saying “I am proud to be in KSI and I want everyone to know that KSI is awesome enough to add to my gamertag”. As long as you continue to represent KSI positively, this will lead to people asking you about the “KSI” in your gamertag and that will give you the chance to talk about KSI and possibly get a new recruit!”

7. KSI members must maintain a professional manner and attitude during play as well as within lobby chat.

“If you are in a lobby and someone starts cussing you out or talking trash, MUTE THEM! Show that you are the better person and just use the “Mighty Mute Button”. Not only does that show the other person that they have no power over your emotions, but it also shows the other players in the lobby that members of KSI maintain a high standard of conduct, which will possibly lead to people wanting to join and then you will be able to recruit them! You also need to make sure to maintain proper conduct when using the forums.”

8. KSI members are not permitted to be a part of any other gaming league unless they are within the alliance of KSI affiliated leagues.

“Once you get logged onto the forums, you will be able to access the thread about our affiliates. Make sure that you associate only with our affiliates and if you have questions about other possible affiliates, feel free to use the Open Door Policy to ask your leadership questions about it, but definitely get on the forums and check it out too.”

9. All KSI members must be the age of seventeen on games rated M (Mature) ESRB RATINGS

“Any exceptions to this rule need to be run through your General and they will bring them to the proper authority for permission.”

10. The list of prohibited activities includes, but is not limited to: Illegal Drugs, Software and other forms of piracy, Racketeering, Money laundering, Blackmail, Murder, Child ****ography, Prostitution, Bestiality, Incest, Slavery, Fraud, Cannibalism, Theft, Vigilantism, Harassment, and Acts of Treason. ALL KSI MEMBERS ARE EXPECTED TO HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND KSI's "CODE OF CONDUCT."

“If you are doing anything in your personal life that violates these rules; KEEP THEM IN YOUR PERSONAL LIFE. We are not trying to control your personal life, however, we maintain a positive and uplifting environment in our forums and game sessions. So, please, don’t talk about eating people in our games LOL”

“Do you have any questions about anything that we have gone over?”

“Do you agree to follow the Code of Conduct of KSI?”

“Welcome to KSI!”

(NOTE: It is good to have another member or two in the party with you as they will be able to cheer for the newbie too and really make the new recruit feel welcome.)

Once this is complete, walk them through the steps of Updating their motto and bio and make sure that they add the Recruit tag to their friends list. Make sure that you verify their motto and bio before you go back to playing. Inform them of the squad meeting time and day and explain the importance of them being there (meet more members, get the latest information and get information about upcoming events, etc...)

Let the new recruit know that at some point, in the next few days, a KSI trainer will pull them into a party and conduct their new recruit training so that the new recruit can get promoted to PVT and get started moving up the ranks! Make sure they understand that the may be trained by someone other than their recruiter. We have had recruits refuse to join parties for training, even after being sent messages informing them of the intent of the party.

Make sure to tell the recruit who their 1CPT and General are and then inform them of the significance of KSI members that have a “7” at the end of their gamertag. (Note: our 7s are key to our operations and should be respected, make sure that the new member knows and understands that 7s can kick them out and ban them from the clan/forums. We want to avoid new members being unaware of what having a 7 means and then making out-of-line comments/flaming our 7s)

Additionally, make sure that for the next few days, you play with your new recruits and introduce them to other members of your squad so that they can build new friendships and a lasting positive connection with KSI.

This is a long document, however, it is MANDATORY so make sure you read and use it!

Instructor/Trainer Standards:

-- Minimum of 3 trainers from each Squad

-- Trainers must be able to PROPERLY conduct both Recruiting and Training sessions. (This MUST be verified by the General of the trainer’s squad)

-- Trainers must be on the Recruit tag

-- Trainers are preferred to be between the rank of LT and CPT, SSGs are acceptable ONLY if FIRST approved by the squad’s General and THEN trained by the squad’s Master Trainer.

MAKE SURE THAT ONCE TRAINING IS COMPLETE, THE TRAINEE IS ADDED TO THE PROPER SQUAD TAG. POACHING FROM THE RECRUIT TAG WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE DISCIPLINARY ACTION!!

The following contains the guidelines for training new recruits. It is to be the foundation for training and follow-on guides will be posted at a later date for the training of PVTs, CPLs, SGTs, LTs, CPTs and GENs.

**Start the training session by explaining who you are and what is about to occur. Ensure the member has 20 minutes or so to dedicate to the training session before beginning.

1) Review the recruits’ qualifications (age/maturity level) and ensure that the standards were followed during the recruitment process.

--- Sometimes recruits lie about their age, make sure to ask for their date of birth and see if it adds up to the proper age. If the recruit is underage, find out who gave the age waiver for them to join. If the recruit is underage and did not get an age waiver from a Co-Founder or higher, immediately terminate the training and politely inform the recruit that they will unfortunately be unable to join KSI.

--- In the case of a recruiting violation report the Recruiter to your General IMMEDIATELY for retraining/administrative action.

2) Review the Code of Conduct with the recruit and answer any questions that they may have regarding the CoC.

--- Be sure to ask the recruit if they will follow the CoC, if they are unwilling to do so, then terminate training and politely inform the recruit that they are unable to join KSI due to unwillingness to comply.

3) Recite the rank structure: RCT,PVT,CPL,SGT,LT,CPT,Gen,COFO,Founder,Co-Div,Div-Leader,Director,Senior-Director. Explain the basic duties of the ranks RCT-CoFo (Details of what must be done to attain these ranks-timeline/training and any requirements)

--- The rank structure can be found at: http://www.ksiglobal...rank-structure/

4) Explain the importance of KSI tag prefix and what KSI means.

--- Ensure the recruit knows that it is a requirement for higher ranks due to the fact that if a person wants to lead in KSI then they should be proud enough of the community to show their affiliation no matter what they are doing on XBL.

--- KSI stands for: Knowledge, Strength, Integrity.

5) Explain to the recruit that they must follow the chain of command and bring any issue to their next highest member (SGTs and below go to LTs, LTs go to CPTs, CPTs go to the GEN and so forth.)

--- It is important for issues to be handled at the lowest level possible so that leaders at all levels get experience and become better leaders. If a member has an issue that cannot or is not handled by the lowest level possible then it must be brought to the next level and so forth. Some issues are as follows:

-- Security threats and poaching MUST be handled by CoFos and above.

-- Squad transfers of SGTs and below within the same Division can be handled by the generals of the squads, with CoFo notification.

-- Squad transfers of LTs and CPTs must be handled by the CoFos of the squads with notification of the Founder.

-- Division transfers must be handled by the Division Leaders.

6) Explain the importance of Squad Meetings.

--- Though Squad meetings can be a bit dull sometimes, they are very important for announcing news, upcoming events and giving members a chance to meet all of their officers and sound off about issues within the squad/clan. It is also a prime time to meet other members of the squad and build cohesion and friendships within the squad.

7) Explain the purpose of the squad tag.

--- The Squad Tag offers a complete list of the members of the squad so that members do not have to add every member to their friends-list. This gives the member a place to go to find other gamers within their squad to play with and basically gives the member a friends-list over 100 when you add the squad tag to their existing friends-list.

--- Explain as well that any messages sent FROM the squad tag should be held as gospel and followed as would any command from the squad’s general, especially since either the General or the Co-Founder run the squad tag.

8) Explain the importance of using the forums - www.ksiforums.org.

--- The Forums are a great way to get to know the other 3000+ members of KSI. They also contain loads of information to enable gamers to improve on all of the games KSI members engage in. There are graphic art resources, leadership class and affiliate communities on the forums as well.

Once the “8” sections of Recruit training are complete, ensure that the new Private’s motto reflects the promotion to Private: from “KSI Fallen FA RCT” to “KSI Fallen FA PVT” and so on for each squad. Ensure that the member goes to the correct squad!!!

--- Ensure that the PVT’s bio has both: 1) who recruited the member, including date of recruitment and 2) name of the trainer.

Example: “Recruited by: KSI Uber 7 on 5/22/12. Trained by: KSI Airborn 7 on 5/24/12”

*** “TRAINED BY” IS ADDED ONLY AFTER ALL TRAINING IS FINISHED ***

--- If the member’s Motto and Bio are not correctly done, then the member will be removed from the roster and the squad will lose credit for the recruitment.

--- Once all training completed, the trainer needs to post on the forums, in the appropriate squad thread, “training for *Member Name* completed”.

ENSURE ALL TRAINERS AND RECRUITERS ARE CONDUCTING OPERATIONS PROPERLY OR ELSE THE OVERALL SQUAD WILL SUFFER.

*** Failure to follow the standards outlined in this manual may result in loss of training ***

*** privileges and/or demotion to SGT. ***
