My mentors have been numerous tbh. But the ones who stand out the most are KSI Shockr 7, KSI Swag 77, & KSI DC 7. 
 
KSI Shockr 7 taught me about how to rework my mindset and my approach to situations. He showed me why it's more important to listen than to talk, and how I should teach and train those below me. How to better approach people to try and help them be able to help me. It's a mindset and a mentality that I've carried with me for a long time now and has served me well.
 
KSI Swag 77 taught me the ins and outs of being a Co-Founder and how to better apply that mindset and mentality on a Divisional level. As well as how KSI standards actually should work.
 
DC has taught me a lot about KSI and its inner workings, showing me the effects of different people's actions in various scenarios and situations, and not even thru those handy dandy workshops either tbh.

Uppish has been a very VITAL member in getting Hellborn going in a solid direction once more. He is constantly there for anyone within the squad and even other squads. I know i can count on him for anything needing done, and even going beyond that, anything WANTING done. He is always going out of his way to pick up more things to do, he even just joined a couple depts, and still keeps up with everything he was doing before. He has shown what it means to lead by example with the recruiting and trainings he has stayed on top of, as well as training up coming officers within the squad. If it wasnt for this young man, im not sure what kind of direction the squad would be in.

I love you too brother.

I've been working on this post bit-by-bit that past 3 days trying not to tear up when I think back on my time here ni Hellborn. But I just wanted to post this here, in our Forums Squad Chat, and impart some stories and a bit of KSI wisdom to all of you, as your General and the longest standing member of this incredible squad.

So, I just passed my 1 year mark of being a General here in Hellborn DM, I was first promoted on 9.8.19. Honestly, there are times I wish I could keep moving up and help on a Divisional Level. But there's also a huge part of me that never actually wants to leave Hellborn because of all the friendships I've made here. You guys have helped me transform Hellborn from the squad that was known as the "problem child" and the "toxic squad," into a squad that's anything but that. Make no mistake, we get rowdy and loud at times. But we have found where the line in the sand is and we don't cross it. Hellborn is first and foremost, my home and our squad. It only works if we make it.
 
For those of you who don't know, I actually transferred to Hellborn from Venom DM where I was originally recruited and had made it to Captain. When I was offered the business transfer I was very hesitant. At the time Venom was my home and I had a good group of players that I'd recruited and gamed with daily. But I spent some time with Hellborn and decided to take the transfer. In the first 4-6 weeks we had 4 officers step down for various reasons (one of whom ended up as a General of Cruelty btw). It felt like everything was crumbling down and Hellborn might get closed as a squad. We had to kick it into high gear. So my Gen at that time and I spent about a month hosting 3 gamenights a week each. During April and May 2020 we became brothers, always in sync and on the same. It showed me what a Gen and 1 Captain could do when they put in the work. Together with our Co-Founder KSI Dragons 7 (miss you buddy) it felt like we were holding Hellborn together like Spider-Man held that NYC Ferry together, barely and with a LOT of tape (he had spider webs, but same idea). Eventually we had a SSGT step up and last about a month. He wasn't too much help. Then June came around and @KSIxMissVixen stepped up to help out and @KSI JAK KNIFE 7 transferred over from Insanity. NOW we had real help. Hellborn started getting better and we were slowly able to start working in the right direction. Eventually the General started to become outright toxic towards the 7s Staff and eventually his Officer Staff, and he stepped down 8.26.19. And I took on the responsibilities of General of Hellborn on 9.8.19. Overtime, Hellborn slowly started to turn around and get better. We began to heal from wounds and mindsets imposed by leadership past. And now, a full year later, Hellborn is in the best shape I've ever seen it. Thanks to people like (and in no specific order) @KSI JAK KNIFE 7, @KSIxTHOR, @KSI Zordon, @Dragon 7, @KSI J0KER DM, @KSI Anxiety0, @KSI Dragon5, @KSI KENSHI, @KSI Lord Alcarin, @I AM W1CKED, @KSI Draco, @Scarface 77, @KSIxROMEO 7, @KSI Shockr 7, @DrinkYourDamTea, @KSI Empress1, @KSI Lancer, @KSI LesBean, @KSI Pastries 7, @KSI DntAsk 7, @KSI Joe 7, @KSI SZANDR, @KSI Soap 7, @Radioactive KIA, @KSI Fidelity, @KSI SinJeans, @KSI ninja dm80, @KSI Fats McGee, @KSI WinterMoth, @TheMightySquito, @KSI LacyJae3724, @Parzival, @KSI Fidelity, @KSI DC 7, @Airborne, @ThaHomieRonin and every single other friend & member who has been lucky enough to call Hellborn their home squad. Each and every one you has meant more than you know to me. 
 
Whether you're brand new to KSI and to Hellborn. Or you're Pastries (and Sungazer) and you just keep ending up here, no matter how hard you try. KSI is an amazing place that transforms a lot of lives. It brings a whole to meaning to gaming and to friendships. KSI is actually really simple, the more you put into KSI, the more you'll get out of it. Take it from the guy who's been an officer for nearly 2 years (or it's at least getting close to it), I've been in 4 different Departments, currently AAP Senior Staff and the Head of News, as well as a member of KSI's Leadership Council. The more effort you put into this community, even if it's just coming to more gamenights and meeting more people in Hellborn and across DM. The more you'll love being a member (or even a leader) here.
 
In the end, I want you guys to know how much you mean to me. I've spent countless hours gaming with everyone here over the past 18 months. Hosting what seems like infinite gamenights and watched people grow as members, officers, leaders, and people. YOU GUYS MEAN THE ABSOLUTE WORLD TO ME! I can say that a million times and none of you will ever know genuinely understand how much and how deeply I mean that. I mean it, wholeheartedly, to the core of my soul, with every breathe I take, and with every fiber of being. You guys mean EVERYTHING to me. At this point, Hellborn is my baby and I'd do anything I could for any of you guys.
 
As exhausting as being a General can be, I've got the best Officer Staff a I could ever dream of. I've gone to battle for them before and I'll do it again and again, every single time because they're worth it. I've seen this squad at its worst and at its best, it's capable of amazing things when people care and remember what's important. We as members, not leaders, are what make KSI amazing. If you make every decision with the member's happiness, safety, and well-being in mind. Then I can promise that you'll never make a bad choice, no matter how it may seem. 
 
I'm pretty sure I bleed that Hellborn Gold we rep in Discord btw. But you know I'll always be around.

Testimony:     it has been a bit of a bumpy ride with Uppish over his time here. We had some highest of highs and lowest of lows. I can say though that Uppish has definitely had an affect on our division, even if sometimes it was what not to do, lol hes a hard worker, he knows what he wants, and hes ready to put the work in to get there. Uppish has reached out to numerous members to be sure everything was ok with them. He has sat in parties just to listen to a few of the members and what they were going through. He has a good heart. Even though he seems to have a thick head sometimes. Lol Uppish was a huge part in saving his squad Hellborn that was on a rapid decline after its previous General. But with his hard work and teamwork hellborn is finally moving in a better direction and DM is better of because of it.

Grunt is always busy doing something KSI, but that does not stop him from helping members of every level. He will make himself available at the drop of the hat for any member that needs it. Grunt always takes time to listen and provides good, sound advice to help solve your problem, He listens without judging and hears with an open mind. He is truly what makes KSI great. I know I can always count on him when I need help. I truly consider him a friend even though i have never met him irl. When I came to him because I felt overwhelmed and felt like leaving, he talked to me like a friend and he kept it between us. I would trust him with anything at any time. He is the voice of reason in KSI. He is also able to even make meetings fun with his joking personality. That is a feat in itself. Grunt definitely deserves this award.

Romeo is another one that always makes himself available to KSI. He puts his heart and soul into this organization and always wants what is best for the members. He makes sure officers are always doing what is expected and also makes sure they understand why he is asking it of them. Not only that, but he practices what he preaches and is always gaming with members and in open parties, so others can join. I have seen many times where he will join parties from work to help out members with issues or just hang out and chat. He seeks member input when scheduling division wide game nights to make sure he is doing what the members want. I have spent many nights talking to Romeo about issues with members, but he never made me feel like I was bothering him. He just does what needs to be done to make this organization successful. Romeo goes above and beyond for the members and deserves to be recognized for it.

MeShell makes any party she attends fun. She is full of life and laughter. Not only is she Co-Fo, but she is also head of productions. She balances the two very well, and makes time for anyone that needs it. She is a ray of positivity no matter what is going on. MeShell was my co-fo when I was gen, and she was always there when I needed her. She answered any question, no matter how dumb, and was not afraid to ask for help when she did not know the answer. She is constantly gaming with the members, and doesn't let rank stop her from helping anyone that needs it. We orginally gave MeShell a hard time because we did not know her and had heard some false things about her, but she did not let this stop her from making sure we were doing things correctly and from helping us. This perseverance is why I chose her as Co-Fo of the year. She does what is best for the members, and her commitment to this organization is evident in everything she does.

Whiskey does not always get the recognition he deserves. He puts everything he has into making sure the members are happy and have the best gaming environment possible. He has a way of drawing people to him and making them want to be better people. He leads by example, and never gives up even when he gets discouraged. He has never won an OTM even though he deserved it more than anyone. He has been through three generals, and dealt with so much diversity and strife, yet continued to do what he knew was best even though it was not always the popular opinion. He fought for "his people" to make this community become one of the best there is. He makes himself available to his members at any and all time, and they come to his with deeply personal issues because they know they can trust in him and his constant commitment to always do the the right thing. Words do not do justice to what a good person he is and how much he deserves this award. He is a general that others should strive to be. It honestly hurts him to have to remove people from this community that he loves so much. He gives his all to it all each and every day. His officers consider him not only a leader, but a friend. As a Captain under me, he was always looking for ways to improve our officer staff and the squad as a whole for member retention. he came up with an agenda to run officer meetings, so we could make sure we were focusing on member happiness and doing what was best for them. He gives out praise in public and his criticism in private to build up hos officers.  he constantly strives to be the best he can be. he has come a long way since he joined KSI and even mended relationships with people that he previously had his differences with. he isn't afraid to admit when he is wrong and make the appropriate corrections for the situation. I only hope to one day be half the person he is. Whiskey deserves recognition for the work he has done and the obstacles he has overcome in order to become this great leader.

Peppers put all she has into her members and KSI. She isn't afraid to ask questions and is always looking for ways to better the squad. She is a master recruiter and puts more time into it than most people. She cares about the members and often spends hours talking to them about their concerns or problems. She was always the first one to volunteer for game nights or to host classes for members. She is definitely a force to be reckoned with when it comes to KSI. She makes all the game nights she can and constantly spends time in open parties gaming with members. People feel comfortable coming to her with their problems and she always makes herself available. She has even gotten members headsets before when theirs broke, so they could continue to be a part of this community.

Siren is a genuinely kind and caring person. As a LT, under me she was always available when I needed help and always one of the first to sign up for game nights. She suffered an injury to her hand, but she did not let that stop her from doing what was best for the members. She still games when she could and joined parties to get to know the members. She does not see herself as a leader, but I see that she leads people with her positive personality and her commitment to the members. She went as far as to get a game for a member so she could be able to game with other members since the member could not afford it herself. She suffers from health problems, but you would never know it unless she told you. She pushes past all that to continue to make this community the best it can be. I loved having her as a LT, and I am proud to call her my friend.

Emslawson has only recently become a SSGT, but he is one of the best. He is quick to sign up for game nights and is eager to get his training done, so he can be an asset to the officer staff. He is very good to communicate what is going on, and his parties are a blast. He does not get discouraged when he only has a few people at his game nights. He is a positive force in this community and I can't wait to see what he brings to the table in the future.

Reason: Timber is an outstanding member of KSI. He is always willing to help and recently served as an officer under me. He always asks questions when he doesnt know an answer, and offers to help when he can. He is not only a good member, but also a good friend. He recently bought me a copy of Modern Warfare since I couldnt afford it and he wanted us to be able to play together. He did this without asking for anything in return and didnt expect to get and recognition at all for it. Timber is a great member of KSI and definitely deserves to be recognized for all that he does.

He always joins open parties and makes himself available to other members. Though he has issues of his own, you would never know it. He is a positive role model in this community. He has been picked several times for our own sqauds members of the month because of all of this. He makes this community a great place and deserves to be recognized for it. 
 
 
 

DntAsk has continuously put herself out there with keeping people motivated, inspired, and positive! I know myself and countless others have been encouraged to keep trucking when feeling low and down, all because she is more than just an ear that listens to us. On several instances when I was in a rough shape with one thing or another, her random, feel good messages was always perfectly worded to make me feel better and look forward to things to come! Almost every member of DM, and countless other members and leaders throughout KSI, have been helped by her one way or another. I know her irl can be very hard to her and make it rather difficult to be on all the time, but she has never failed to be there for the members when they need her.

Trixie has proved on multiple occasions her ability to go above and beyond with her squad and the division! She has succesfully led her squad into a split and even rebounded fairly quickly afterward! This woman has helped prove what an efficient squad can do and knocks down barriers for what we expect from squad leadership. She has helped countless members with various issues that most wouldnt, or couldnt. Some of these ways are helping members obtain gold, ensuring every member has someone to play with from the get go, and even going as far as being there for someone to talk to about various things. I can not wait to see where this leader goes and what all she accomplishes.

DntAsk has continuously put herself out there with keeping people motivated, inspired, and positive! I know myself and countless others have been encouraged to keep trucking when feeling low and down, all because she is more than just an ear that listens to us. On several instances when I was in a rough shape with one thing or another, her random, feel good messages was always perfectly worded to make me feel better and look forward to things to come! Almost every member of DM, and countless other members and leaders throughout KSI, have been helped by her one way or another. I know her irl can be very hard to her and make it rather difficult to be on all the time, but she has never failed to be there for the members when they need her.

Romeo has continued to be a beast with everything he has going on. He is gone above and beyond more times than I can list for what hes done for this division and its members. He has been acting gen over 2 squads, both needing a help in the officer dept., as well as being an acting CoFo for another squad. All of this done, while also staying on top of the division as a whole. This LEADER continues to improve the way we do things and has helped us threw countless issues. There is very little that goes on in this division that he has not already got an eye on, or he isnt already expecting. There is countless division leaders in the past that have had a division this size, but few that have held it together as much Romeo has with what we have going on. There has been several times I've questioned how he does it all, but if you start to come around him, or the partys he is in, you know this man is doing a lot of this while multi-tasking work and/home stuff. I have never seen someone who works as much as he does, pull off the balance he has for his KSI dutys.
