“Whiskey” consistently goes far above and beyond his duties nearly every day in KSI, and was recently promoted to 1st Captain of Discord DM due to this simple fact. Whiskey is an absolute stand-out among Demonic Mayhem’s officers. He truly has the betterment of both the Division and the Squad in mind. He works closely with me daily in discussing squad activity levels, provides numerous ideas to boost activity/morale, advises on member retention, as well as how to continue adding quality adult members to Discord Squad. As an example, Whiskey took the initiative and the time to create in-game clans for Discord Squad in The Division 2 and Destiny 2. Thanks largely in part to Whiskey, both in-game clans are growing at a healthy rate each week (Whiskey rebuilt the Bungie.net clan for Destiny 2 from the ground up) and he makes it a point to have friendly competitions with members each week for the top XP earner in The Division 2. Whiskey not only engages members on DM’s Discord server daily, but he actively games with and is able to speak frankly with members about any manner of issues that arise. I’ve seen firsthand how Whiskey handles difficult situations with members who may have crossed a line, and he’s shown tremendous personal/professional growth in this area alone. His ability to relate to/with a wide-variety of DM's members is reflected in Whiskey outgoing personality. Whiskey is goal-oriented, and is not easily deterred. Seeking to better himself and serve our community, Whiskey is currently applying to join Department Ops (News). I believe the sky is the limit for Whiskey - both in Clan Ops and Department Ops - as he has the drive, determination, personality, and communication/people skills to make things happen. Furthermore, Whiskey does not shy away from any work which comes his way, as he's currently training two up-and-coming officers in Discord DM. On two separate occasions - one of which I was on an extended LOA - Whiskey helped manage the squad in my absence (and did a fantastic job in doing so). Whiskey is frequently my plus-one in the weekly Divisional General’s Meeting, and it’s refreshing having him there to give input and/or ask tough questions. Whiskey is absolutely not afraid to tackle any topic/task no matter how large or small, and frequently joins me in speaking to DM's Seven Staff in order to resolve all manner of issues and/or give valuable input as to both the Division as a whole and his own squad. Whiskey, thank you for the sheer amount of time you've dedicated to KSI, your positive attitude, problem-solving skills, your willingness to adapt your way of thinking to accommodate/assist our squad members and/or officers, and your tremendous amount of hard work and dedication to KSI, Demonic Mayhem, and Discord Squad. As I was on a Leave of Absence earlier this month, Whiskey ran the squad in my absence (and did a fantastic job in doing so). Whiskey is frequently my plus-one in the weekly Divisional General’s Meeting, and it’s refreshing having him there to give input and/or ask tough questions. There is absolutely no doubt that Whiskey is qualified to run Discord Squad as its next General. Furthermore, it’s my honest belief that Whiskey - given the time and training needed/required - can and will go to the rank of Co-Founder or higher. She's the first officer in the squad to volunteer to conduct trainings/promotions and host game nights (many times she volunteers to host multiple game nights per week). Member Gamertag (Rank - Division/Squad) - KSI SevensNova (SGT - DM/Discord) Link to forums account - @SevensNova Reasoning why they deserve this - "Sevens" as I know him won DM/Discord's Member of the Month for May 2019. Sevens is an outstanding gamer with one of the most easy-going personalities I’ve ever witnessed. Sevens is very active in Discord Squad and games with many members from across the entire division. He is always courteous, friendly-natured, approachable, and polite beyond belief. Sevens is an extremely positive influence on both the Division and the Squad, as I’ve never heard him use foul language or speak poorly of anyone. He actively engages others in DM's Discord server with a friendly hello, a funny screenshot, or by simply welcoming new members and/or congratulating those who were promoted. Sevens is a hardcore gamer and has assisted members with in-game achievements/awards on both the divisional and squad level. Sevens is a true team-player, a soon-to-be officer, and an overall great guy. Sevens’ upcoming two-year anniversary with KSI and his willingness to step up to assist DM/Discord Squad as an officer are just some of the many reasons why Sevens deserves this award. LT Gamertag (Rank - Division/Squad) - KSI Trixie (1LT - DM/Discord) Link to forums account - @Trixie Reasoning why they deserve this - Trixie is one of the most dependable, personable, and hardest working officers I've seen in KSI. She's ALWAYS the first officer in the squad to volunteer to conduct trainings, promote recruits, and host game nights. She does an absolutely wonderful job engaging both the squad and the division on DM's Discord server, and she's always polite in doing so. She's eager to learn, and is currently enrolled in LEAD 101. Although there were some delays and cancellations, Trixie was absolutely determined to get into LEAD 101 and she did just that. Trixie sets the bar for officers with her friendly, approachable demeanor and I could absolutely take lessons from her on this Finally, Trixie is a logical thinker and I personally appreciate her straightforward approach to leadership. She isn't afraid to ask the tough questions, and if she doesn't get an answer, she will press until she does. To me, this is an admirable trait, and I truly hope this never, ever changes. Trixie, a sincere thank you for all of your hard work and dedication to KSI, Demonic Mayhem, and Discord Squad. You are truly an asset and reflect great credit upon yourself and this organization. Member Gamertag (Rank - Division/Squad) - infinityhunt (CPL - DM/Discord) Link to forums account - @Infinityhunt Reasoning why they deserve this - "infinity" as I know him won DM/Discord's Member of the Month for February, 2019. He's a rock amongst the members of both the division and the squad. Not only is infinity one of the best all-around gamers I've seen to date (both PVE and PVP), he's always extremely courteous, friendly, and approachable. infinity has helped countless members with in-game achievements/awards on both the divisional and squad level. In fact, and on several occasions, he spent three consecutive weeks helping numerous members of DM (including me) with a very difficult in-game quest on Destiny 2. infinity is sets the bar for what a team-player should be. infinity's participation levels are off the charts! He recently celebrated his two year anniversary with KSI, and this is commendable. He attends nearly every game night available, he's always quick to engage others in DM's Discord server with a friendly hello, a funny quip, welcoming new members, and/or congratulating those who were promoted. infinity is a member of DM's COD Black Ops 4 HeadHunters this season (currently 3rd seat), and truly shines as a team-player. infinity, thank you for truly being one of the best members in our entire division. Category: Division Leader Gamertag: KSI Gruntier 7 Forums Account Link / @KSI Gruntier 7 Reasons they deserve this award – “Grunt” or “Eli” as I know him deserves this award because he runs one, if not the best Division in KSI. Grunt, like those below him in Demonic Mayhem’s (DM) Seven staff, is a gamer at his core. I see him online nearly every night, and if he’s not in a staff meeting, he’s out there gaming with members of his division. He actively engages members and officers alike, and his presence is greatly appreciated. Grunt makes himself visible and available to members and officers alike. Grunt is one of only a handful of people that I know in KSI (some are on this very list of nominees) who truly embraces what it means to maintain oneself in a professional manner during KSI-related parties, chats, etc. I have never heard Grunt speak a single expletive, and no matter how heated the situation may seem, Grunt’s demeanor doesn’t change; he’s always cool, calm, and collected. Finally, Grunt is a man of action; he is proactive not reactive. If there is something wrong, I’ve seen him take swift action in order to remedy potentially disastrous situations from developing. From my observation and experience, Grunt’s leadership style shows no bias, no favoritism, and doesn’t allow any “politics” to affect his decision making when it comes to Demonic Mayhem. Category: Founder Gamertag: KSI FluffyPup 7 Forums Account Link / @KSI FluffyPup 7 Reasons they deserve this award – “Fluff” or “Kyle” as I know him deserves this award because he’s left a permanent positive imprint on Demonic Mayhem and possibly KSI as a whole. Kyle is vested in KSI and it shows! Not only is Kyle a hardcore gamer (he games with everyone, and frequently streams on Mixer for us to enjoy), he is our resident IT guy, maintains Demonic Mayhem Radio on YouTube, maintains a widely-used KSI information server for DM’s officers/potential officers, and like KSI Gruntier 7, he ensures he is available to both members and officers alike (and he has a lot on his plate, currently as a founder, but for many months this year he wore the acting Co-Founder hat as well). I know that I can bounce an idea, etc. off Kyle using Xbox Live or Discord, and he’ll get back to me with an honest answer. Last, this year Kyle was a charter inductee into Demonic Mayhem’s Hall of Fame (along with receiving an Outstanding Service Award). In my humble opinion, this in and of itself is enough for Kyle to receive this Of the Year award. Thanks, Kyle for all your hard work and dedication this year. You are a stand-out amongst stand-outs, and I truly appreciate everything you’ve done for me personally and for Demonic Mayhem. Category: General Gamertag: KSI MeShell 7 Forums Account Link / @KSI MeShell 7 Reasons they deserve this award – “Shell” or “Michelle” as I know her deserves this award because through her positivity and engagement of members/officers across the division, she is an absolute asset to our Division (no matter what rank she holds). Her positive attitude and likeability are not limited to Clan-Ops but spread into her Department-Ops activities as well. Specifically, I appreciate and enjoy her KSILive streams on Twitch. As a General, I’ve seen her on Xbox nearly every single day engaging not only the members of her own squad, but constantly (and positively) engaging other members in parties, DM’s Discord server, and on the forums. It’s my observation that Shell’s engaging members and other officers alike in a positive manner has had nothing but a positive impact on the entire division. Shell isn’t afraid to get out there and play any game and just do what we’re all supposed to be doing. Having fun! I believe Shell truly understands what it means to belong to a gaming community. Finally, Shell isn’t afraid to speak up when something is wrong, nor does she hesitate to ask questions if she doesn’t know the answer. I’ve seen her quietly redirect public conversations in DM’s Discord server to parties or direct messages. Shell is another example of someone I’ve observed to be proactive instead of reactive when it comes to dealing with any manner of KSI-related issues. If one is aspiring to become a solid officer in KSI, Shell is a shining example. Shell, thank you for setting a high bar for members and officers alike. Category: Captain Gamertag: KSI EzeD24 Forums Account Link / @EzeD24 Reasons they deserve this award – Recently promoted to a Captain position, and in spite of a hectic IRL schedule, “Eze” as I know him deserves this award for the sheer perseverance and resilience, he’s shown this year. I would describe Eze as a selfless officer who puts the needs of the squad and its members above his own. Like those I’ve nominated above Eze is another gamer to the core, and being an officer alongside me in Discord Squad, I know I can count on him. On at least two occasions, I’ve witnessed Eze pick up multiple weekly game nights knowing that his IRL schedule is brutal. Eze knew Discord Squad needed his help, and he’s been there through thick and thin. Eze is an effective communicator and is absolutely not afraid to speak up if he believes something is amiss. Like KSI Gruntier 7 above, I view Eze as one of those who speak softly and carry a big stick (this is a good thing). To me, it’s not about how much you can achieve in one year’s time, but how much effort you put forth regardless of the outcome. With Eze, I’ve seen effort at the highest possible level, and I’m truly appreciative of his time and assistance. Thanks, Eze for all of your hard work, patience, and endurance this past year. He returned to contribute his time and leadership skills, with a steadfast determination to make things better and stronger. He didn’t return to put a spotlight on himself, but rather to shine a bright light on both divisional and squad-based problem solving. I sincerely appreciate Whiskey’s ability to speak and engage large groups of people, all the while knowing his audience. He is absolutely not afraid to speak up if he believes there is an issue, and his no-nonsense approach to day-to-day problem solving is absolutely refreshing. Finally, I really appreciate Whiskey's sense of humor. Whiskey is not afraid to add some levity to difficult situations, and it's my opinion that Whiskey's leadership style of no-nonsense with some humor added in will take him as far as he wishes to go in this organization. Barring any IRL circumstances, Jester is always at squad meetings, game nights, and any other activities offered at the squad level. Jester proudly wears the KSI prefix, and by and through his actions, it shows. Jester is communicative, has a good sense of humor, and is an excellent all-around gamer. He actively engages other members of DM’s Discord squad and has a unique and not-easily-forgettable laugh befitting of his gamertag. Category: Department Head Gamertag: KSI RiiOT 7 Forums Account Link / @KSI RiiOT 7 Reasons they deserve this award – “RiiOT” or “Super Sergeant Ultra First Class RiiOT” as I know him deserves this award because his department is brutally efficient. Plain and simple. RiiOT has shown through his leadership of the AAP Department that things get done and done properly. From the team he leads in AAP, to the new Meta Awards, to everyday interaction with RiiOT, the man gets things done! From my observation and personal experience, RiiOT’s AAP Department process awards properly and without delay (many times same-day turnaround for award nominations, which is phenomenal). In the rare case an issue arises concerning anything AAP, RiiOT is there to make things right. I had the pleasure of witnessing for RiiOT’s Gold Outstanding Service Award this year (an award that speaks for itself and one that I respectfully request be taken into consideration with this nomination), and it was then I learned that RiiOT had earned something I didn’t realize was possible in KSI: Seven status in all three areas of KSI: Clan-Ops, Department-Ops, and Web-Ops. To me and to this day, RiiOT continues to set the gold standard for what KSI is/should be. RiiOT remains a pillar of KSI by and through his actions while wearing many hats.
