Knowing your Squad

Knowing your squad is a lot more than just game types and an occasional how’re you doing. Make sure to plan in your schedule to actually hang out with the members. We all know first hand officer cores can become clichey etc. But it’s our job as officers to be out there hanging and building relationships within our squad with the members. Bring the energy, bring the hype, and bring a good time to these peeps. We all join KSI to have fun, if things aren’t fun it’s your job to bring that vibe and energy back. As that is what drives activity and potential officers.

Remembering Our Lower Ranks

As officers and leaders sometimes we forget that we have members that are below the officer ranks. These are the heartbeat of our squads and divisions. Please remember to reach out to you members on a regular basis. Being positive and reaching out to them can sometimes produce new officers. So be that positive light and leader our squads and divisions need.

Being An Active Listener

A wise man once said, listen with the intent to understand, do not listen with the intent to reply. This is a powerful message so many of us forget time to time. Whether it’s ideas for a game night or improvements to KSI as a whole. Or even hearing a members bad day out and understanding where their frustrations and stress are coming from. Listening with the intent to understand goes so much further then with the intent to just spit ball a reply back. Sometimes saying nothing is larger then saying something. Be patient and kind with one another but always use your best judgement as well. After all this is one big family of strangers trying to make a place for all to be welcomed and valued.
