Welcome to the 2021 Of The Year Awards!

This is a yearly event which is designed to have members from all over the community recognized for their achievements in the community within the calendar year.

To nominate someone for one of these awards they need to have held a rank prior to today.

Before you nominate someone think back throughout this entire year, from January until now, and find the person you can think of that best filled each Rank & Position in this community, from Member all the way to Senior Leader.

CEO-@KSI xKing 77 I believe that King deserves of the year for CEO because of his work in ES. When I first joined in July of this year not fully understanding what I was joining he took the time to help me gain a better understanding of not only the Community but his vision for ES and KSI. He helped me realize that I could best assist KSI to be better by becoming an officer and offer my unique brand of insight and help ES and Hydra to grow and become strong. If it had not been for him and several others I do not believe I would still be here. I know you have had so much on your plate and soon to become a dad for the first time. You are more than you give yourself credit for and I am proud to call you friend. I cant see there being a KSi without you my friend.

COFO-@KSI Gambit 7 Where do I begin about this young man. Gambit is literally the life of the party. He reaches out to new and old KSI members he teases us and goads us into reaching for and becoming better. If Gambit had not mentored me the way he did I dont know if I would be in the position I am now. As he says I have the "it" factor whatever that means but his tutelage and drive to quickly move through the ranks I am not sure I would be GEN. it took all I could do to keep up with this young man as we moved through the rank structure and he taught me as we went and made me think as if i were already 2 steps ahead of my current rank. He is a wonderful person who it has been a pleasure to get to know. He has taken the role of mentor a step further and has become a member of my family his children are on my shopping list and his wife is adorable. KSI would not be the same without him.

Captain-@KSI Nagisa although its traditional to name people from your own squad to the of the month or of the year awards and both of my captains are amazing I cant help but want to recognize Nagisa. Despite dealing with his own issues and problems he helped me learn how to game he helped me get to know our squad and has always been available when i had questions even though our squad has split and he is no longer a part of hydra he is still apart of our division of ES. I have watched him struggle with the decision to step back into the officer core and once he did to assist his squad as they struggled. He is continuing to try to help his squad grow and recover. He is being a mentor to several of his young officers and continuing to be a friendly ear for me when I just need to vent to someone who understands what comes with this position. KSi would not be the same without him

Forums Staff-@The ChadMinI recommend you for the Forums and your join area. Despite not ranking up through clan ops he still makes his presence known. He has made himself available to help when needed and has given advice freely. He has also mentored me as i trained to be a join mod while simultaneously working as a captain and most recently becoming gen . He has continued to encourage and be understanding despite the fact i am currently busy with clan ops he is allowing me to slow down in web ops instead of having to step down. i consider him not only as a mentor but as a good friend. Throughout my time in KSI his presence has been needed and a voice of reason when situations arose and advising me as necessary when I was unsure how to handle situations. KSI would not be the same without him.

SSGT_@KSI BIKRMOMA SSGT- you were so unsure of joining our strange little family but once you decided to you took us by storm. Learning everything you could and asking questions and participating in everything you could. Not only do you help our squad by being so active you have become like a sister to me and I highly value your friendship. You have taken the time to take nearly all the workshops needed to move up throughout all the ranks even before becoming an officer so you would understand what is asked and what is expected of each rank. You help keep myself and Gambit humble by your thirst for knowledge and your passion for our squad i couldnt picture someone else to be the epitome of what a SSGT should be. For this and many more things I truly believe that you deserve of the year award.

LT-@KSIEZCHOCLAT LT- When you first joined our squad and stated you were interested in becoming an officer I was unsure of how or where you would fit in. As I got to know you I have come to value your insight your drive and passion for wanting to make Hydra the best squad in KSI. You continually ask questions and despite your work hours you are one of my most active officers and I am most pleased to watch you bloom and grow as you move up through the ranks. As much of a hard time you give me you also push me and help me be the best general I can be. Because of your passion and your drive I can truly see you moving as high up as you decide you want to just remember as you do that your story started here in Hydra and we will always be your first family.

Corporal-@Killermolly8 where to begin with this young man. Despite his disabilities he out games me every time!! He is a sensitive and wonderful young man who despite the problems of the real world making it difficult for him to be as fully active as he would like and through the loss of his brother he still remains a positive young man in our squad. He is usually one of the first to greet me when I go online if he is on and one of the last to say goodnight. He checks in on other members and jokes around with the best of them in our squad. Although currently he is a corporal in our squad I would say he has become an integral part of our squad like the kid brother everyone finds adorable and wants to help. He may have only been part of KSI for a relatively short time he is definitely a member that makes being part of KSI fun.

Reasons they deserve this award: Shadow has always been there for anything I've needed and for anyone else that's needed it from what I see. He personally even showed and taught me some ways about what I was doing wrong when coming up to CPT as a LT still and I respect him so much more for just showing me what was needed and being blunt and honest and helping me see what needs to be done and to help other officers and not just wait n see if they will but to show them and help them and explain when . Besides that I just always feel he's there for any need no matter how busy he may be he takes care of it and I have nothing but respect for him as a director.

Reasons they deserve this award:  babytank has been the life of the party lol. I never seen such a squad be so happy and comfortable hopping in the gens party and being able to either talk bout there day whether its how good of a day it was or bad . I loved it right away when I joined samurai because I felt it's how it should be in a gaming community everyone hanging out laughing gaming. We all get along and have a good time. And when time come she puts the joking aside and gets down to work and does what needs to be done for her squad. I've had my own altercation with her but we always help each other out and just want the same goals for this squad and to see it grow and I'm so thankful for a great gen over my squad. For that I feel she's well deserving of this OTY award.

I helped train and watched flamingo grow and grow from member to SSGT to LT and he did excellent and learns and double checks and asks and just continues to do good. Reason they deserve this: since I've joined AAP I have always been asked and shown what to do and if I had questions they were answered. I also felt he's on top of stuff and makes sure to remind us and correct us on stuff we do wrong. Since I've joined he always been looking out for me and having my back in case I do something wrong and showed me right way and I just feel he's very deserving of this OTY.

Swag has always had an incredible impact on his members and leaders no matter what his position is. He has dedicated most of his adult life to KSI, but his dedication has really shown in his most recent role as Chief of Staff. Swag Takes the time to get to know every member on a personal basis. He is constantly looking to innovate and improve the KSI experience for his members and is always one party invite away. He has shown tremendous character and integrity in his role as Chief of Staff, and always makes decisions with the members in mind. Since Swag has taken command, the attitude of clan ops has taken a significant turn for the better. He stresses the most important part of KSI to his leaders, which is to have fun. He's truly a pivotal leader in KSI and I'm excited to see where he's able to take clan ops.

 The Man, The Myth and the Legend. I’d put DC up against anyone in this community. DC had recruited me March 16th and in this short time of knowing him nothing but greatness has been shown. DC trained myself and many other officers throughout CS creating a powerhouse of recruiters in the division. He played a huge role in the squad split of doom. He recruited promoted and trained people beyond the point of burnout, and still kept going. He embodies the meaning of the S in KSI. Without DCs strength and perseverance through rough times I can 1000% say CS would not have some of the standards and staff in place it does. DC is one of the most humble and generous people I’ve met in KSI, I wouldn’t be in the position I am today without him. The man literally stepped down to give me a chance at LT. And thats only a few of the many things he’s done in the community. In conclusion, DC is THE GOAT.

Reasons they deserve this award:KSI Uppish 7 has always helped me with any issue that has come my way. He stays active with his members despite how busy he is and is always fun to be around. There have been a few times where I’ve just spoken with him about things going on in real life and he was always there to listen. He’s helped me with multiple situations whether it was KSI-related or not. There are a few reasons why Uppish deserves the award but to give a few ones that stick out to me. We can go to any event and I promise you will see Uppish’s name 10,000 times, Uppish is constantly pushing out the forum's challenge and hyping up the events every chance he could. Uppish plays a big part in why people in CS are as active as they are, whether it’s party hopping between every squad, showing up to officer and squad meetings, or even hosting game nights now and again. When you think of CS he’s one of the first people that comes to mind, he’s joyful while being a doody head at the same time. He’s there when you need him and is always on top of his game. And he does all this while working 12 hour shifts on the regular, “breaks are for sissy’s” is the man's motto. His work ethic shines in CS and there isn’t a reason he doesn’t deserve this. Uppish is extremely hands-on since he’s been DivLead with Calamity and every other squad here,while still managing the Division as a whole.. He’s always worked great with the officers in CS and he’s constantly learning new things and thinking of new ways to better the KSI experience for every member, officer and 7 here. Pushing us all to become better officers and to perfect our craft. His goofiness and drive haven’t changed much since he’s taken on his new role, he’s still jumping in parties, helping people with one on ones regardless of whether it’s training or just some advice. Overall Uppish is just the GOAT.

Reasons they deserve this award:KSI Grogu 7 is easily one of the greats when it comes to the leaders in CS. He has helped guide me through many tough times whether it was keeping my head on straight while dealing with a struggling squad or even just day to day struggles of being an officer. He has played a major role in bringing calamity out of multiple rough patches. He has kept our officer core motivated even when it seems impossible and is extremely active in our day-to-day activities. He’s always joining random parties or helping organize officer goals for the week as well as delegation for a day to day process.He helps keep us in check when we need it while also building us up every chance he gets. Grogu is in it for the pure growth and betterment of this community. He is one of the most understanding people in KSI I’ve met. The man knows what he’s doing and his opinion on any matter is extremely valued by myself and many others. If he says he’s got you, he’s got you. He’s never one to disappoint and is without a doubt in the top tier amongst the KSI divisional 7s staff, Grogu makes everything his own and is extremely meticulous and wise while completing tasks or making decisions. He leaves his mark wherever he goes. Grogu was always there to help even when he was the Gen in Wrath, with advice or even just to chill out and think some things over. Since taking on CoFo he’s been one of the main leaders I go to and trust with anything. During my training as acting Gen Grogu helped guide me in the right direction by showing me how to set proper goals in place on a squad-based level, as well as communicating with my squad professionally while keeping it friendly. There isn’t a single reason he doesn’t deserve this award and I’m sure many others would agree.

It’s hard to find a person in CS who doesn’t know who this man is. KSI T StackG is a huge asset to CS when it comes to retention, this man gets around like a fat kid to a ice cream truck! Stack has some of the best social skills in this community with out a doubt, the only man I know who can talk to a wall and somehow it’ll talk back. He’s played a huge role in the success of Wrath, as he’s huge on statistics and activity. I can speak on multiple times where he’s been party hopping while doing his document based work. He’s also great at training, he’s a very relatable teacher and puts things into perspective from a different stand point. I can 10000% say CS wouldn’t be nearly as fun without Stack. Keep it up brotha, the sky’s the limit!

He’s willing to teach and train anyone that comes his way, I came to him wanting to learn more about his rank and what it means to be COS and he was willing to take time away from his day to give me the run down on it even though I’m years away from ever getting there. Reason:

Endless... Endless is the amount of effort I see being put in by Chocolate. I'll be quite honest, and say, that I envy the drive that pushes him forward. Each and every coming day brings new challenges to the table. These tasks are like a rough wind beating against a stone. As the wind continues, the stone will erode and eventually cease to exist. The stone is ones will to continue if you hadn't guessed yet. Each person is made from a different material. For example: I view myself as if my spirit is made of limestone. It can handle some wind, but it will erode with enough pressure. On the other hand. Chocolate is a hardened steel ingot. I can only assume this is from working experience, and I'm sure others are used to the work as well, but it's different for Chocolate. Even when he was a staff sergeant, he never ceased to amaze me. While I was recruiting a few a week, he was pulling in many more. I would promote people, but never as much as Chocolate. We were at the same rank, yet I felt the need to follow his lead. The beacon he created through his resolve undoubtedly lights the runway for those who follow. With the amount of announcements he sends out, you always know what is happening and what will happen. As I sit at my desk look at discord, I can not help but see KSIEZCHOCLAT racing beyond our standards into a not so far away light. Chocolate, please continue to lead the way and continue to be the kind man you always have been. Thanks

Reasons they deserve this award: I really got to know who Swag was when Wrath transferred over to CS. I know this man is busier than all get out but he still manages to come to SQUAD level events throughout KSI. He has always had the best interest in mind when it comes to KSI and CS. There has been many procedures that have been implemented that has come from Swag. Just to mention one thing recently is the 1:1 fluff ratio. I'll admit at first I thought it wasn't even going to work but it completely does. This man has a strategic mind and plays cards that he knows will work and if they don't he already has a plan B,C and D. To see someone so high up in KSI interact with every day members is astonishing. Keep up the good work Mr Swag.

Reasons they deserve this award: This man has Chaos Syndicate running through his veins. Whenever DM shut down, we were transferred over to CS and this man was the first individual we met. From that very first encounter I knew he was a force to be reckoned with, not only by his knowledge about the community but also by his confidence. After a few months of being here he was promoted up to Div Lead and I tell you what, since then there has been some major moves made and they have all made CS stronger than ever. He holds every single Divisional leader and officer to a higher standard and makes them work for their rank. There is nothing that is given out for free that isn't earned and that is simply amazing. Yes Uppish is an extremely busy man but he makes time to come and enjoy game nights and make himself known through the division and that is something that is rarely seen when it comes to someone that high up, at the end of the day he is a member like every single one of us. He works hand and hand with the leaders and officers, he has implemented a lot of different procedures that work! Keep crushing it!

Reasons they deserve this award: I have seen this man start the year off as a GEN and quickly moved his way up to Co-Fo. He has been very knowledgeable and willing to go into very detailed training that is meant for success. In  no means will I say some of his training was "textbook" but it was so effective he gave me the knowledge to be confident where I am at now. Not only has he trained me like that but he has taken this division and implemented some very planned and strategic decisions. Shatner is here to help as much people as he can and that are willing to learn from him. At the end of the day all he wants is to better KSI as a whole and so far I can see that when it reflects to the Division. No matter what is going on day or night he is always available, there are even times I wonder, does he even live outside of KSI because he Eats, Sleeps and lives the KSI life all the time while managing irl at the same time. Not only has he built Wrath to what is was before handing it over to me, he has also been able to go over and prevent other squads to fail that were struggling. Yes one failed but he tried everything he could to keep it afloat and if that doesn't explain a little bit of his dedication and love for this community I don't know what would. Reasons they deserve this award: This man has stuck through an unimaginable storm that would cause the normal member to leave a long time ago. From the time he came into the community there has been nothing but greatness come from him. Since his squad split earlier this year, he has been the man at the wheel Persevering through every obstacle thrown at him. There was many times where I know he wanted to throw the towel in but that wasn't an option. He has come up with new ideas to better the squad he's in and even challenge to better the ideas given by others within his squad. He has built the squad that he is in from the ground up recruiting over half of those members by himself and training them as well! Time and time again he always shows out when it comes to training and expanding his knowledge within the community. Not only has he dived feet first into Clan Ops but literally everywhere you look within KSI sleepy is there. Keep up the great work brother! I see you going far and thank you for what you have done for the community in this year alone.

Reasons they deserve this award: Wow this man has been on fire from the time he has joined KSI. He has really started to show is full potential in his current rank as a LT. At different times this man has took on 4+ mentees at a single time. He is a machine. He never burns out whatsoever despite the squad leadership telling him to take a break. His ability to talk and train people are out of this world. I haven't seen this in a minute. There as been many of times that he has stayed up till 4am in the morning working with someone, either it be training or helping them recruit while having to work the next day. He clearly shows love and drive for this community. I see this man going far if he continues on the track that he is going. There are multiple occasions where he has put KSI first in every aspect without being asked to do so. All he wants is KSI to prosper as a whole and isn't worried about any personal gain.

Reasons they deserve this award: Walrus just recently got promoted to LT but during the majority of his time he has been one of the best SSGTs to show the amount of Drive and love for his squad and the community. Since coming to the officer ranks he has soaked in as much knowledge and then turned around and used it. It's awesome to see this man work. He trained up a potential officer to the point that the PO was actually transferred out to another squad to build up their officer core. Walrus has held many different workshops and have done this that aren't asked of just because he has this unseen drive. He is constantly working to better WRATH and KSI as a whole.

Reasons they deserve this award: Since I have become part of the AAP department, Paradox has been there always at a moments notice to help with any questions or concerns. Uppish is what all Div Leads should aspire to be like. This guy know every member in his division and they know him on a personal level and the only way this can happen is if someone delicates the time and this is where what Uppish does is note worthy, he works 60+ hours a week but still spends so much time being there for members that I have heard PVTs and CPLs talk about him then when he jumps in the party like he does they have his fully undivided attention. He is pushing everyone to raise their own bar with the workshops and education classes that he has going out daily, he pushes for officers to better themselves and leaders to make KSI a great place to be. All members of his division have nothing but respect for what he does and how he does it. CS is better because of this guy right here.

Venum runs a tight ship with all he does and I have witnessed this first hand while I was under his guidance. He is always liaising with staff about practices and ways to streamline their process. He is a well of knowledge in all aspects of KSI and he is my go to guy if I have an issue and I know that with his resolve any problem I have is sorted. He has also raised a load of people to climb the ranks to mods and senior mods using his practices and nothing screams recognition like the legacy he is leaving behind him.

Mr. Pickles has been all over the community this year but his two biggest accomplishments are easily how well CS & ES are doing compared to when he first engaged with them. CS has grown to hover between 280-300 members since June/July and that's in no small part due to the groundwork Swag laid down and the policies that were implemented in CS. ES was way down on its luck when Swag first stepped in, a few months later ES completely turned around and won Fall Classic. Swag's ability to generate positive momentum in a Division is top tier & shows on every level of a Division when he works. As always, I'm looking forward to seeing what's next. Keep it up homie!

Not many people can say they earned an OTM for the very first month as a certain rank, let alone as Co-Founder. KSI Grogu 7, aka Shatner, is one of the select few who can make that claim. He undoubtedly is a fundamental necessity for CS. As the Division Leader of CS, I'm 1 person and can only do so much. Shatner is my right hand in CS, we work like peanut butter & jelly to help the squads of CS to flourish and grow. In his time as a Co-Founder, I've come to count on him more and more. He's the type of go-to guy that I wish we could clone so every Division would benefit from his experience and KSI expertise. Shatner has been a critical part of guiding the leaders of Rebellion, Wrath, & Calamity to expand and grow in knowledge and leadership skills as they seek to improve their squads. As a General, Shatner built Wrath into the golden example of what a squad could & should be. A powerhouse of sustainable growth, high quality leadership, & active members that are kind & welcoming. Since he has become a Co-Founder Shatner has begun to implement those virtues & ideals across the Division. CS has benefited greatly from his hard work and dedication. Quite simply, the maximum impact one individual can make on a division is epitomized in the one and only, Shatner.

If anyone tells you Merc and his squad aren't the golden example of how to run a squad, they're flat out lying. MercX has taken Wrath to new heights since becoming its General. He's built his officer staff into the stuff KSI Leadership dreams about every night. Wrath has set the CS record for most recruits in a 7-day span at 15. Not as 1 or 2 officers, but as an entire team the officers & POs worked together to make that number happen. Since July 15th, Wrath has had an impressive 66 recruits. This is how Merc has been able to grow his squad and find new officers to fill his staff with. Merc's done a phenomenal job leading Wrath to sustainable, long-term greatness as a squad. Don't stop now big fella!

Captain: KSI Sleepy

What a bum! For real though he is. But Sleepy is also a bum-bastic Captain! Backpacking his squad for months as his fellow officers struggled from time management or (at times) lackluster work ethic. Sleepy has kept Calamity above water and moving forward. He's got the beginnings of a great officer core and all that's left is to build that comradery and chemistry that can only come with time. Sleepy always leads his squad by example and has become a stat sheeter who is second-to-none. Let me break down the stats for y'all. Since joining KSI in March 2021, Sleepy has performed 73 promotions, 42 transfers (primarily from that squad split he was a crucial part of), 65 recruits, 184 total stat chat posts, nearly 50 security checks, trained over a dozen POs or officers and been Acting General for about 3 months, despite only being a Captain for almost 7 months. He's donated $100s of dollars to fellow members in multiple squads & across Divisional lines. Sleepy became a well known figure & leader throughout the community as he joined & flourished in multiple departments/areas of the community. Sleepy is a member of News, LC, Education, and Graphics on top of being a reckoning force in Clan Ops. His work ethic, time management, and thirst for knowledge is first rate. Every once in a while there are leaders who show the drive, intelligence, work ethic, and innate ability to make it all the way to the top. Only time will tell if Sleepy will, but you'll be hard pressed to find anyone who thinks he can't make it happen. Keep it up Mr. McSlapperton

This guy has been an ace from the onset. Groudon, as he more commonly known, has been on the forefront of training officers for his squad. Three of those people have made SSGT and another to Lieutenant, with two POs who are eager to do the same. All of them have been exceptionally trained and surprisingly knowledgeable about KSI overall & their specific duties as officers. His top tier training skills have been a critical key to helping his squad build out their officer core and continue their streak (hehe.. get it!?) of excellence.

"Listen here sonny!" said Grandpa Pastries. Despite being centuries old in KSI-years, everyone's favorite 4th SGT has been a fantastic member this year. He's helped old friends rejoin and make new homes in KSI. Pastries has helped host & cohost gamenights usually Halo or Golf w/ Friends and introduced fun new gamemodes to keep things fresh and exciting. He always helps to build the hype for annual events, participating in nearly every single event for the entire year! A CS party is never truly complete without Pastries there to liven the mood and make moth jokes (old people jokes ig..?) He's branched out and made friends with members across squad and divisional lines, introducing his squad to new ideas and ways of thinking. Pastries was also a welcomed addition to KSI's 10th anniversary podcast in September! A great friend and an phenomenal asset to KSI, Pastries is and forever shall be a KSI OG.

The only person I know who can talk an endless amount of trash while getting crushed in a game, and only make sense for about 20% of it. Frankly we're fairly convinced Stack has invented a new version of English. Despite his occasional incoherent verbal diarrhea, Stack is one of the most beloved and cherished members of CS. A machine of an officer, it was a tough call where to put him for an OTY nomination. But easily a top flight member who's always down to game with anyone. He's organized Division-wide gamenights, been a great hype man for annual events, and been invaluable benefit to his squad. Stack has never truly sought power or higher ranks in KSI but is arguably more deserving of them than anyone else I know. This guy is a one man powerhouse of positivity, good vibes, & motivation that is unmatched throughout this community. If you have to pick a guy to build a squad from the ground up, Stack is your go-to guy.

AAP has been a wild ride this year but through it all Paradox has always been helpful, polite, and positive despite any dubious circumstances thrown at him. As awarded countless awards and almost always in a timely fashion regardless of time zone or work schedule. While running AAP he's stepped up in his squad and hosted or cohosted several fun gamenights without being asked to. Paradox wanted to help his (at the time) struggling squad and did so. That level of dedication to all aspects of KSI can be difficult to find, but I'm glad to count Paradox as one of the few who still have it.
