KSI Standards for Recruiting and Training Proccess's (and SOP)

KSI CODE OF CONDUCT

In order to maintain the high standards of membership in KSI, and to continue to represent the KSI community, all members MUST understand and abide by the following "Code of Conduct".
 

1. Every KSI member must read and understand the Xbox Live® Terms of Service and Code of Conduct.
“Obviously, you play on Xbox Live and had to agree to the terms of service in order to participate in XBL, so it goes without saying that we expect you to follow the guidelines outlined thereinâ€

2. KSI does not tolerate discrimination, racism, or harassment, by or towards, any member of KSI in game lobbies, chat forums, or gaming situations of any type.
“When you are participating in the forums, XBL or any other activity that is part of the KSI community, you represent KSI, even in non-KSI related games if you have changed your gamertag, and you should represent KSI in a positive fashion. You made the decision to be part of this community and you should, by example, encourage others to do the same. Do not make fun of anyone because of their race, gender, religion, region of the world, accent, etc… Treat everyone with respect.â€

3. Leaders within KSI are responsible for: the organization of all squad matches and practices, posting match scores, maintaining professional game play during squad matches, and oversight of performance and behavior of lower ranking members.
“This doesn’t apply to you yet, since you are a new recruit, but it should inspire you to gain higher ranks so that you can start to take part in the employment of these activities as a leader. Additionally, this also gives you a guideline of what to expect from your leaders so that you can, politely and with tact, help them make sure that they are setting the proper example and leading effectively. If you see something that seems “off†then you should work to get promoted so that you can have more influence in taking care of your other membersâ€

4. A KSI member: NEVER LEAVES ANOTHER KSI MEMBER BEHIND.
“This is pretty self explanatory. If a member goes down in the game and can be revived, then revive them. It also applies to other situations though: If a member has a question, concern, or other issue that you can help them with, please do so. We like to think of KSI as being a family and the way that we promote that way of thinking is by taking care of each other.â€

5. All members have an "Open Door Policy" to speak with Leaders and Founders on any issues or with any ideas.
“You, as a member of KSI, have the right to talk to your leadership about issues, both your own and ones within the squad/division/clan. However, please make sure that you follow proper protocol and take the issue to your LT or CPT first so that they are aware of the issue. No one likes to be blindsided with an issue and it is respectful to let your immediate level of leadership know/try to help before it must go higher. Additionally, you can post any issues on the forums, which are an invaluable resource and tool. Check out my bio for the address and make sure to sign up for the forums. You will be able to meet other members and build connections with hundreds of other players on XBL. Once you register, make sure you check your email and validate your logon so that you can start posting.â€

6. A KSI member takes pride in his or her membership and is encouraged to change their gamer tag within 60 days.
“You absolutely do not have to change your gamertag in order to be a happy and successful member of KSI. Many players are just casual gamers that  want to have a large player base to associate with. However, if you want to get promoted to the rank of SGT or higher, then you will need to change your gamertag in order to reflect your affiliation to KSI. By changing your gamertag, you are advertising KSI in any game that you play on XBL, even outside of the regular KSI games. This is a good thing! When you change your gamertag, you are saying “I am proud to be in KSI and I want everyone to know that KSI is awesome enough to add to my gamertagâ€. As long as you continue to represent KSI positively, this will lead to people asking you about the “KSI†in your gamertag and that will give you the chance to talk about KSI and possibly get a new recruit!â€

7. KSI members must maintain a professional manner and attitude during play as well as within lobby chat.
“If you are in a lobby and someone starts cussing you out or talking trash, MUTE THEM! Show that you are the better person and just use the “Mighty Mute Buttonâ€. Not only does that show the other person that they have no power over your emotions, but it also shows the other players in the lobby that members of KSI maintain a high standard of conduct, which will possibly lead to people wanting to join and then you will be able to recruit them! You also need to make sure to maintain proper conduct when using the forums.â€

8. KSI members are not permitted to be a part of any other gaming league unless they are within the alliance of KSI affiliated leagues.
“Once you get logged onto the forums, you will be able to access the thread about our affiliates. Make sure that you associate only with our affiliates and if you have questions about other possible affiliates, feel free to use the Open Door Policy to ask your leadership questions about it, but definitely get on the forums and check it out too.â€

9. All KSI members must be the age of seventeen on games rated M (Mature) ESRB RATINGS
“Any exceptions to this rule need to be run through your General and they will bring them to the proper authority for permission.â€

10. The list of prohibited activities includes, but is not limited to: Illegal Drugs, Software Alteration, Modding of Games, Console Manipulation, Other Forms of Piracy, Racketeering, Money laundering, Blackmail, Murder, Child Pornography, Prostitution, Bestiality, Incest, Slavery, Fraud, Cannibalism, Theft, Vigilantism, Harassment, and Acts of Treason.
“If you are doing anything in your personal life that violates these rules; KEEP THEM IN YOUR PERSONAL LIFE. We are not trying to control your personal life, however, we maintain a positive and uplifting environment in our forums and game sessions. So, please, don’t talk about eating people in our games LOLâ€

What comes Next

NOTE: It is good to have another member or two in the party with you as they will be able to cheer for the newbie too and really make the new recruit feel welcome

Once this is complete, walk them through the steps of updating their motto and bio. Every new recruits motto should read as this example format, “KSI Phantom LS RCT.†The new recruits bio should read as this example format, “Recruited by KSI FUZZYMEEP 7 on 03/03/13.â€

 

Once that is complete walk your recruit through the proper steps of having their motto and bio visible to everyone and have their friends list set to friends only. These steps can be completed through the xbox livedashboard menu under “Privacy Settingsâ€

 

You also want to make sure that you inform your new recruit that they must add the “Recruit Tag.†Be sure you explain to the recruit the importance why they are adding the Recruit Tag. After all these steps listed have been completed be sure to double check their motto and bio before you move forward to the recruiting process.

Next thing you want to do is inform your new recruit of the KSI website “www.ksiforums.org†and help them create an account. Be sure to inform your new recruit why members are encouraged to have forum accounts.

Inform them of the squad meeting time and day and explain the importance of them being there (meet more members, get the latest information and get information about upcoming events, etc...)

Let the new recruit know that at some point, in the next few days, a KSI trainer will pull them into a party and conduct their new recruit training so that the new recruit can get promoted to PVT and get started moving up the ranks!

 

Make sure they understand that the may be trained by someone other than their recruiter. We have had recruits refuse to join parties for training, even after being sent messages informing them of the intent of the party.

Make sure to tell the recruit who their 1CPT and General are and then inform them of the significance of KSI members that have a “7†at the end of their gamertag. (Note: our 7s are key to our operations and should be respected, make sure that the new member knows and understands that 7’s can kick them out and ban them from the clan/forums. We want to avoid new members being unaware of what having a 7 means and then making out-of-line comments/flaming our 7’s.)

Additionally, make sure that for the next few days, you play with your new recruits and introduce them to other members of your squad so that they can build new friendships and a lasting positive connection with KSI.

The following contains the process for training new recruits

**Start the training session by explaining who you are and what is about to occur. Ensure the member has 20 minutes or so to dedicate to the training session before beginning.

1) Review the recruits’ qualifications (age/maturity level) and ensure that the standards were followed during the recruitment process.
"Sometimes recruits lie about their age, make sure to ask for their date of birth and see if it adds up to the proper age. If the recruit is underage, find out who gave the age waiver for them to join. If the recruit is underage and did not get an age waiver from a Co-Founder or higher immediately terminate the training and politely inform the recruit that they will unfortunately be unable to join KSI"
- In the case of a recruiting violation report the Recruiter to your General IMMEDIATELY for retraining/administrative action.

2) Review the Code of Conduct with the recruit and answer any questions that they may have regarding the CoC.
"Be sure to ask the recruit if they will follow the CoC, if they are unwilling to do so, then terminate training and politely inform the recruit that they are unable to join KSI due to unwillingness to comply.

3) Recite the rank structure: RCT, PVT, CPL, SGT, LT, CPT, Gen, COFO, Founder, Co-Div, Div-Leader, Director, Senior-Director.

4) Explain the importance of KSI tag prefix and what KSI means.
Ensure the recruit knows that it is a requirement for higher ranks due to the fact that if a person wants to lead in KSI then they should be proud enough of the community to show their affiliation no matter what they are doing on XBL. It is also important that you let the recruit know that KSI does not tolerate KSI gamertags that references drugs or sex. If caught with such a gamertag that breaks the Code of Conduct you will be subject to change it and you will not be eligible for any promotions.

 

KSI stands for: Knowledge, Strength, Integrity.

5) Explain to the recruit that they must follow the chain of command and bring any issue to their next highest member (SGTs and below go to LTs, LTs go to CPTs, CPTs go to the GEN and so forth.)
It is important for issues to be handled at the lowest level possible so that leaders at all levels get experience and become better leaders. If a leader is unable to resolve the issue, then it will be taken to the next higher level.

6) Explain the importance of Squad Meetings.
(We have them for accurate and complete dissemination of: information, news, upcoming events, and the opportunity for members to bring up issues/ideas.)

7) Explain the purpose of the squad tag.
The Squad Tag (offers a complete list of squad members so that members can see who else in the squad is online without having to add all 50 or more members. By going to the friends list of the squad tag, members can invite others that are online and still save space on the members’ friends list.) Explain as well that any messages sent FROM the squad tag should be held as gospel and followed as would any command from the squad’s general.)

8) Explain the importance and proper usage of the forums - www.ksiforums.org.
The Forums are a great way to converse with other members and maintain a constant flow of information throughout the community as well as the many resources and aid available on the forums. As a member you are only allowed to be in the use of one forums account. Violation of this will either end in a ban or a perma-ban from the forums. If someone is using the same computer or you share households and hold the same IP, you must get with a forum admin first before creating an account. Without validation of an admin you will be banned. If you ever have problems with signing in get with the admins for help, creating another account will only get both accounts and your IP banned from the forums.

Once the “8†sections of Recruit training are complete, ensure that the new Private’s motto reflects the promotion to Private: from “KSI Demise DL RCT†to “KSI Demise DL PVT†and so on for each squad. Ensure that the member goes to the correct squad!!!

Ensure that the PVT’s bio has both: 1) who recruited the member, including date of recruitment and 2) name of the trainer.

Blacklist:
> The removal of a Member for Breaking to CoC in such a serious fashion Senior leadership Deem them unfit for the community

Merge-/-Merging:
> The Act of combining 2 or more squads or divisions into one.

Do Not Hire (DNH):
> The removal of a member for breaking the CoC with a serious enough breach to be removed from either KSI, Division, Squad or a program but not enough to be blacklisted

Transfer:
> The act of a member moving from one division/area to another with the consent of there leadership

Poaching:
> The Act of Coxing a member of another Squad, Division, or Clan to join you illegally. This is Highly Disapproved In KSI.

Clan-Ops:
> All Operations taking place in Squads or Divisions. Highest Ranking Member in Clan Ops is Senior Director

Web-Ops:
>All Operations Taking place on any web Site

Clan Hitting:

1. The Act of destroying what another Squad, Division or Clan has Built.
2. Generally Caused by Members who can not create there own squad, Division or Clan due to lack of leadership abilities.
3. Forbidden in KSI, If you Cant Build something don't destroy others.
   

Clan ops Uniforms:
> Clan tag will be for your Rank
> Armor Primary will be for your Division Color. *halo
> Armor Secondary will be for your Squad Color. *halo
> Gamer Tag Motto will be for your Squad, Division, rank
> Bio will be for your recruitment date, who recruited you.

Age Recruitment Policy

• KSI's Minimum Recruitment policy on Age is: 15+ Years
• All Divisions are allowed to Allow members Aged 15 and older to Join their Division.
• By allowing the youth of Xbox live gamers to enter the community it will in turn give them an incite to basic management skills and developing leadership traits.
• If a Division does not want any members younger than a specified age to join **example: one Division has minimum age of 17** Then They must have another Division to be able to hand off the member to, in order to not leave any member behind.
  

  
  Conflict of Interest Policy:
  

  
  Conflict of interest†means when the K.S.I.’s interest in securing objective performance of instructional, evaluative, supervisory, or other responsibilitie s conflicts with the personal interest, in the outcome, of the individual carrying out such responsibilitie s. Such conflicts of interest arise when an member is involved in a sexual or romantic relationship with a student or another K.S.I. member whom s/he supervises, teaches or evaluates; when an member lives with another member or student whom s/he supervises, teaches or evaluates, whether or not those individuals are involved in a sexual or romantic relationship; or when an member is involved in any relationship with another member or student whom s/he supervises, teaches or evaluates, such that the K.S.I.’s interest in securing objective performance of instructional, evaluative, supervisory, or other responsibilities conflicts with the personal interest, in the outcome, of the individual carrying out such responsibilities.

  All Transfers Need To Be Requested By The Member Wishing To Go, First To The Division Leader Then The Director Of Each Division, If All Accept Then They Are Allowed To Go, But Different Reasons For Transferring Call For Different Procedures

• 1> Ask your general if you are more needed where you are and if they have plans for you.
  
  • 2> Your General will either encourage you to stay or to aid you in pursuing the division transfer by contacting the leader of your division.
    
    • 3> Your division leader will get up with the director of the division
      
      • 4> The TWO (2) directors will then meet and talk the transfer over.
        
        • (discussion will include issues they are involved in, conduct, attitude, professionalism, )
          
          • 5> If the Director does not want the member, or feel the member is too much Trouble based on their record, the transfer will be refused.
            
            • 6> If both directors agree then the member will be transferred. *Minimum of 2 rank demotion to any rank, lowest being SGT for KSI tags. please remember that rank is not guaranteed to transfer over due to space in squads or the division as a whole.

[*]Update Members On G14 to reflect the Squad Tag Using Actual Gamer-Tag of those on your squad tag and the Designated game type of the Squad. [*]Update At-Least Every Day. [*]If a General has issued getting onto G14, then it Falls to the Co-Founder and higher in the division to update G14 for the General [*]If your account is not used for 7 days it is removed. [*]Any changes made to a divisions leadership (Co-Founder - Div Leader) must be communicated as soon as possible to a Senior Director so the " Leaders List " can be updated immediately.

[*]Make sure that the members are accounted for on G14. [*]Only Senior Directors Can Merge and Close Divisions.

When A Member Is Blacklisted They Are Not Permitted To Be In Or Around KSI Or KSI Programs. Being Removed from a Division-/-Squad-/-All friends Must remove you and have ZERO contact. If a member of notable issues within or outside a Division becomes such a problem then The Leaders of the Division (Founder and Up) Can Decide to Request a Senior Leader to Look into if the evidence warrants a Black list. If you are removed from your division you can discuss it with the leaders of the division or the Director to find another division or if you have friends in other division you may request to join them as well, unless the issues you caused are decided to be too severe.

Definition of Security risk

A member can be deemed a security risk for one or more of the following:
- Associating with blacklisted/labeled security risk xbox users.
- Creating situations that potentially cause discord between members in squad/division.
- Mentioning past affiliations with specified risk clans/individuals.
- Creating an undesirable and/or uncomfortable environment within the squad or division.

All members deemed security risks are subject to full investigation before admittance to another squad/division of KSI

Usage Disclaimer:
- This by no means allows members to Blacklist or DNH members.
- This method of removal should only be used if members are socializing with Black listed persons or Clans-/-Communities or have made threats against KSI or its running or other equally Questionable actions.
- If you use this without any form of presented evidence then you have just removed a member under False terms and are subject to disciplinary action yourself

Searching For Recruits:

The Recruitment Process:

1. Talk to the potential new recruit, make sure he/she is Mature and of the correct age to even join KSI
2. Explain the KSI Code of Conduct clearly, make sure the player agrees to all of KSI’s standards
3. Explain our structure, such as Divisions/ Squads/Ranks/ Uniforms/ History
4. Give instructions on how they acquire their KSI uniforms. This includes Motto/Bio & In-game uniform.

5. Show them the squad tag they will be assigned to, and have them add it to their friends list.
6. Have the recruit then register on such as www.KSIGlobal.org and www.KSIForums.org
7. Give them information of the Division/Squad, such as weekly meetings/events and what time they occurs.
8. Explain how members can advance through the ranking structure, and what benefits they can have depending on what kind gamer they are. (Social/ Competitive/ Leader)
9. Keep asking if they have any questions after each step of the way to ensure they have a full and complete understanding of KSI and how it works.
10. Now if there are no more questions, and the Recruitment Process went fine. Continue to keep in contact with the member and keep track of there progress and make sure they are getting the best out there KSI experience, And just have fun!
