A Comprehensive Guide To Ranks

This is a comprehensive guide to rank duties compiled from various topics on rank duties. This guide is subject to change and will be edited as needed. The numbering is random and not in order of importance. This will be updated further as it stops at General for now.

NOTE: These aspects carry over into each new rank- Just because you've moved up doesn't mean you get to forget about the previous rank's duties.

All ranks should know these basic points:

- That to be the rank of SGT and higher you MUST have a KSI tag.
- KSI's Minimum on Age of membership is: 15+ Years
- The web address for the Forums: www.ksiforums.org
- Their Division Section on the forums.
- What the Name of their Division is and who is Running it.
- Be able to recite the Rank structure from Recruit to Senior Director
- Read-/-Understand and explain the Code of Conduct if asked.
- Understand that YOUR conduct is what you are responsible for.
- KSI asks for 5 Recruits Per Squad Each week as a Minimum
- That Activity is Key to maintaining active squads and Divisions.
- That Directors handle Division transfers.
- That Directors are the Only Rank in KSI that Makes Squad Tags and issues them Directly to the General



Private-Corporal

1. Play with other members and get to know your fellow squad mates.
2. Attend squad meetings and game nights.
3. Learn how to recruit
4. Sign up the forums and learn your way around.
5. Learn the rank structure.
6. Learn/Familiarize yourself with Code of Conduct.
7. Learn who the officers are in your squad.
8. Know what a 7 means.
9. Know who our CEO is (KSI FuzzyMeep 7).
10. Host game lobbies with fellow privates and corporals.
11. Remain in uniform (clan tag, bio, motto, privacy settings).

Sergeant

1. Recruit and recruit Correctly.
2. Become more active on the forums by posting and reading.
3. Know the Code of Conduct.
4. Know who your squad officers are and each leader up to Senior Director and who holds each position.

7. Memorize the rank structure.

9. Hold lobbies and game with privates, corporals, and sergeants
10. Encourage privates and corporals to change their names to KSI.
11. Have individual workshops with every private-corporal telling them how they can help the squad, learn more (the forums), and rank up. Be sure to also teach them basic information that they need to know.
12. Ensure all members are in uniform.
13. Use your time as a sergeant to learn all that you can about KSI operating procedures and squad management.

Lieutenant

1. Maintain recruiting while making sure your squad gets at least 5 quality recruits a week.
2. Train recruits on the recruit tag after 48 hours.
3. Know who your squad officers are and each leader up to Senior Director and who holds each position.

5. Hold game nights at least once a week.
6. Game with and get to know as many members in your squad as you can while teaching them basics.
7. Continue to attend game nights and squad meetings regularly.
8. Ask your captains for help if you need it, and then your General if they can't help you.

10. Know how to conduct background checks.
11. Make sure members are staying in uniform
12. Memorize/Know the Code of Conduct and ranking structure.
13. BE ACTIVE on the FORUMS.
14. Figure out which Sergeants are ready to become Lieutenants and encourage them to work hard.
14. Lead by example.

Captain

1. Check your inbox and respond to messages quickly as you will have more of them.
2. Train recruits from the recruit tag after 48 hours.
3. Maintain recruiting while making sure your squad gets at least 5 quality recruits a week.
4. Make sure your members are staying in uniform.
5. Talk to and inform members about changes in KSI and vis messages and conversation.
6. Send messages to inactive members on the squad tag saying you miss them, hope everything is ok, and that you hope to see them online more to hang out.
7. Host game nights, workshops, and encourage others to do so as well.
8. Keep individually training members so they know what is going on.
9. Know how to solve issues and treat each issue as important as the next.

13. BE ENCOURAGING to EVERYONE.
14. Oversee your squad team - create on if you don't have one.
15. Take care of any problems that arise and if you can't fix it then ask your General for help.
16. Help your General to promote privates to corporals and see which lieutenants are ready for the Captain rank.

General

1. Greet every new recruit and send a message out on the squad tag once they become a private and include them in that message so they know you sent it.
2. Hold a squad meeting- generally on Sunday nights every week but any day is an option.
3. Post meeting notes within a day of your meeting.
4. Use your squad tag effectively by passing own info that the 7's send you, send messages welcoming new privates, messages congratulating a person for their promotion, motivational messages, and messages about upcoming KSI events including a reminder of game nights and meetings.
5. Hold SGT, LT, and CPT workshops.
6. Assign jobs to Lieutenants and Captains. Head of game night, head of recruiting, head of training, etc.
7. Recruit and train - "Leading by example"
8. Give your Captains a chance to host a squad meeting- preferably highest captain.
9. Encourage forum use.
10. Host game nights.
11. Make sure your squad tag has the forums website, officer list, squad schedule, and leaders list.
12. Promote eligible and skilled officers.
13. Do not Promote based Solely on the number of recruits one has - as recruiting is only one aspect of the many duties and there is simply no magic number.
14. Update G14 everyday if not every other day.
15. Game with your members so as to build trust and companionship so that they will want to follow you.
16. Take a L.E.A.D. course when they start up.
17. Hold recruiting lobbies and show your members how it's done.
18. Assist officers in training, background checks, and uniform checks.
19. Remove inactive members (30+ days) (Varies per squad) by first sending them a message saying that they are allowed to come back to the squad but are being removed for inactivity.
20. Be a role-model based on what you want your squad to look like.

To expound upon this, make sure that you all look into the Clan-Ops information center for all of your KSI information needs. From forums usage to clan-ops help, it has it all available to you! Remember though, all of this is a template for your success. You have the tools, but everyone will use them differently, so do what works best for you! Develop your own style of leadership, and you'll be right on your way.
