KSI Recruiting and Training Guidelines

For starters, you need to insure that the individual meets the standards to be recruited in to KSI, meaning they need to be at least 15 years old, have at least 500 Gamerscore, and at least 20 non KSI friends.  Make sure they are not currently a member of any other communities, or a previous member of KSI. If they are a previous member or a member you believe may be a part of another community, refer them to the join/rejoin KSI section of the forums.

Thank them for showing an interest, and let them know some general things about us. KSI stands for Knowledge, Strength, and Integrity. We are a community of gamers that are working towards creating a respectable gaming environment for all gamers and having a fun experience doing so. As a community we strive to live up to these standards.  Please understand that this is a video gaming community and our number one priority is the enjoyment of games, but we do have rules and procedures that are taken seriously to protect and expand the gaming experience of our members.

Reading and explaining the Code of Conduct
 
 At this point, we will review the Code of Conduct and its rules. If you have any questions about the CoC, please stop me in the speech or review the official version found on the forums after you have been granted access to the website.
 

1. Every KSI member must read and understand the Xbox Live® Terms of Service and Code of Conduct.

 2. KSI does not tolerate discrimination in any form, including but not limited to racism, sexism, or harassment, by or towards, any member of KSI in any situation.
 
3. Leaders within KSI are responsible for: the organization of all squad matches and practices; Maintaining professional game play during squad matches, as well as oversight and evaluation of performance and behavior of lower ranking members.
 
4. A KSI member: NEVER LEAVES ANOTHER KSI MEMBER BEHIND.
 
5. All members have an "Open Door Policy" to speak with Leaders on any issues or with any ideas. But still impress the responsibility to report to the appropriate leaders within the KSI Chain of Command.
 
 6. A KSI member takes pride in his or her membership and is encouraged but not forced to change their gamer tag to reflect KSI.
 
7. KSI members must maintain a professional manner and attitude during play as well as within lobby, party and KSI based chats in order to represent KSI as a positive gaming community. 
 
8. KSI members are not permitted to be a part of any other gaming community, or clan other than KSI.
 
9. The lowest allowed age to be recruited into KSI is: 15 (-KSI Senior Leadership reserves the right to remove any member regardless of age-)
 
10. The list of prohibited activities includes, but is not limited to: Illegal Drugs, Software Alteration, Modding of Games, Console Manipulation, Other Forms of Piracy, Racketeering, Money laundering, Blackmail, Murder, Child Pornography, Prostitution, Bestiality, Incest, Slavery, Fraud, Cannibalism, Theft, Vigilantism, Harassment, Stolen Valor and Acts of Treason.
 
We are not trying to control what you do in your personal life, we do ask that you do not talk about it online or share it with another member in any form.
 
ALL KSI MEMBERS ARE EXPECTED TO HAVE READ AND UNDERSTAND THE KSI “CODE OF CONDUCT”.
Members who violate any portion of the KSI Code of Conduct may be subject to removal from this community at any time.

Also have them add the officers of the squad if possible, as it will make things easier later on.

Welcome them to KSI, and make them aware that an officer from the squad will be contacting them within a day or 2. Make sure to answer any questions they may have that you can answer, or relay their questions to an officer if you cannot. Feel free to introduce them to some of the members of the squad, and to involve them in some squad activities to get them integrated.

Make sure to notify your General of your new recruit, and their gamertag.

 

 

Forced Induction Training Assist

Start the training session by explaining who you are and what is about to go on. Make sure the member has 20 minutes or so to dedicate to the training session before beginning.
 
 Review the recruit’s qualifications (age older than 15/gamerscore over 500/over 20 friends) Also take a quick look at their friends list to verify that they aren't associated with any blacklisted/negative communities just in case something was missed before.
 
Reread the Code of Conduct to them and try to go more into detail on what some of the rules actually mean. Answer any questions that they may have regarding CoC.
 
Recite the rank structure: RCT, PVT, CPL, SGT, SSG, LT, CPT, Gen, Co-Founder, Founder, Co-Division Leader, Division Leader, Director, Senior-Director.

Explain the basic duties of the ranks RCT-Co-founder and let them know who those people are. The rank structure can be found here

Explain the importance of KSI tag prefix and what KSI means. Ensure the recruit knows that it is a requirement for higher ranks due to the fact that if a person wants to lead in KSI, then they should be proud enough of the community to show their affiliation no matter what they are doing on XBL. It is also important that you let the recruit know that KSI does not tolerate KSI gamertags that reference illicit drugs or sexual material. If caught with such a gamertag that breaks the Code of Conduct they will be subject to change it. KSI stands for: Knowledge, Strength, Integrity

Explain to the recruit that they must follow the chain of command and bring any issue to their next highest member (SGTs and below go to LTs, LTs go to CPTs, CPTs go to the GEN and so forth.) If they are unable to reach the person they are supposed to report to, they can go up to the next level.
 
Explain the importance of Squad Meetings. We have them for accurate and complete dissemination of: information, news, upcoming events, and the opportunity for members to bring up issues/ideas. 

Have the recruit REMOVE the FI recruit tag, and then ADD your squad's tag. Explain the purpose of the squad tag. The Squad Tag offers a complete list of squad members so that members can see who else in the squad is online without having to add all 50 or more members. By going to the friends list of the squad tag, members can invite others that are online and may not be on their friends list yet. Explain as well that any messages sent FROM the squad tag are messages put out from the General and should be followed as such.
 
Explain the importance and proper usage of the forums - www.ksiforums.org. The Forums are a great way to converse with other members and maintain a constant flow of information throughout the community as well as the many resources and aid available on the forums. As a member you are only allowed to be in the use of one forums account. If you ever have problems with signing in get with the admins for help.

Once the all sections of Recruit training are complete, ensure that the new Private's motto reflects the promotion to Private: from KSI *Squad Name* FI RCT to KSI *Squad Name* FI PVT.
 Ensure that the PVT's bio has both: 1) who recruited the member, including date of recruitment and 2) name of the trainer.
