We in clan-ops leadership want to make our stance on this feature perfectly clear: these features are NOT to be used in petty or unprofessional manners. Examples being: - Up voting court case rulings not in favor of members or application denials in the rejoin/join area - Down voting divisional transfers for fellow members - Regardless of how you may feel in the moment, keep that to yourself and act appropriately. Our goal in KSI is to provide happiness and safety for our members. Petty actions making them feel bad for their personal decisions will not be tolerated, no acceptions. Discord and Omega Access Uniformity (3/13/19) - Divisional leadership, it is important that we keep uniformity between Omega access and Discord access for all 7s. Although co-founders in your division share what squads they are directly over, they should have access to see all squad chats as well as see all squad details on omega. As we push for more quality and in-sync divisional leadership, it is important to understand that as a 7, you should be aware of all things in your division, not just what you are specifically over. If this access is not currently shared by your divisional leadership, please contact your director. Head Hunters Conduct (3/13/19) - Obviously Head Hunters is designed to bring out the competitive side of our talented players as they square up head-to-head with fellow divisions in the community. This being said, it is important to remember that we are still all part of the same community and should treat each other with respect and a professional attitude as stated in our philosophy and Code of Conduct. Meme Channel Moderation In Discord Servers (3/13/19) - We always want our members to laugh and have fun especially when doing so with fellow squad mates and division members. However when doing so, you are still a member of this community so it is important to think about the memes and images you post. All memes posted need to be Code of Conduct friendly or they will be removed and the posting party may have consequences. If you have to double think if your allowed to post something, odds are you shouldn't. Share that with friends personally and know your audience. SPRING BREAK: - KSI's annual Spring Break community event is just around the corner! With that being said, its imperative that all divisions get their teams signed up before the deadline! DO NOT wait until the last minute to post sign ups for any reason. Late sign ups will not be accepted! Divisional Notes: Teamwork - Teamwork is essential in every aspect of KSI or even real life. Whether we're playing a game, the betterment of a squad, or even a project for school, work, or even KSI. We have to be able to work together. Whether or not you particularly enjoy that person or not. You gotta work together. Now when we talk success of a squad we look at 5 things. Recruiting, training, security, activity, an member retention. An none of this is possible if you don't have teamwork. Because to be successful your squad has to be operating as one fine well oiled an tuned machine. So essentially the term teamwork makes the dream work. Please try to get a good amount from players from your squads. It is the role of the Officers, or Leadership rather, to have a standing within the Squad. This being said, Officers within the Division are expected to be meeting the new members recruited into their Squads, and try to reach out to members they don't know yet. Challenge - Each of the Squads will host a Meet and Greet to ensure that members are being Active and to encourage a positive, Friendly enviroment. If you need help hosting it, use your fellow Officers, Atleast one person from the 7 staff will be there to participate When hosting a game night. It’s important to have fun and keep it going for at LEAST an hour. One of the other most important parts is as the host you are in charge of making sure you are taking attendance and keeping track of who all joins. Looking at all the squads, there should be at least one game night a week according to the schedules. There should be attendance posts everyday. It doesn’t matter if 1 person shows up or 10 people show up. It is important that as 7s, generals and officers we are keeping track of activity in our squads. If attendance isn’t posted your never going to be able to 100% know if someone is active or inactive. So from now on whenever you host a game night, post attendance no matter what the outcome is. The same goes for workshops as well. The recruit club has been cleaned out expect for 3 people Elysium, Paladin, Hannibal you all have til Monday to get your recruit off or I will remove them. But on the note of the recruit club training isn’t being done correctly or isn’t happening at all. I seen people who were on there since December in both regards an this has to stop. This means that ALL officers SSGT and up should be on the clubs so they can see when RCTs are ready to train. Also make sure that RCTs are removing the club at training. Lastly be sure to remove people that have left KSI or that are no longer an officer in your Div. I understand that there are some names on these RCT Clubs that just will NOT delete, we need to make a list and keep track of it somehow so when your Dir or Sr Dir come asking you have answers for them. We have noticed a number of people not logging in days at a time. Once 7 days is up you will be suspended from your access to the discretion of the Division Leader. Member Retention Every rank from RCT all the way up are important! Too often do we see CPLS and PVTS getting lost within the daily doings of the community. As leaders and members of the community it is our job to ensure all members are being included in all activities within the squad and division. If there is a member you think you haven't spoken too for a while, reach out to them, see what's happening. Seasonal Event Games and Gamemodes Divisional 7 staff, we need you to put your heads together and think of 3 potential games that could be used within seasonal events along with 3 game modes for those games. We want to see some new games that aren't usually used within seasonal events to keep things interesting and engaging for all members. Please message your Directors with your lists. If you find yourself not really being able to do your officer duties, then you really have to think, why are you still an officer. Rather then only messaging in discord and squad chat follow up with an invite to everyone online the squad tag. Use the squad tag to your advantages. There are infinite resources around you via fellow officers, divisional leadership, senior leadership, and most importantly, the forums where all practices and procedures are documented for replication. OMEGA Update It is really important as leaders within the community to ensure we are making sure we are logging into the Omega on a regular basis. We have noticed a number of people not logging in days at a time.EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY, once someone reaches the 7 day mark, unless you are on an approved leave of absence your Omega account will be automatically suspended and further repercussions shall occur. Warning 1 results in Rank suspension, strike 2 results in demotion. Support Each Other As an officer it’s important to show support for your fellow officers. If a fellow officer is hosting a game night and your online either by yourself or with fellow squad mates you can and should join the game night and bring the others with you. We all know what it’s like to have no one show up to a game night but we can support each other, we’re all in this together. Recruiting Techniques When we are out recruiting, after a while using the same methods and techniques can make it seem a little stale and sometimes we won't see the same results. Change your methods, try using a different message, perhaps jump into a recruiting party, there are numerous ways to alter the way you recruit. If you feel you are out of ideas, reach out to other members, officers and 7's. Because more often than not recent SSGT promotions have been hit an miss. An this isnt the fault of anybody more of the fault of the way things are done. This new system I'm gonna work on with the 7 staff should hopefully get the ball rolling. So expect some big changes here in the future. What are the keys to squad success? Recruiting, Training, Security, Activities, Member Retention, Communication, Accountability, Knowledge, Strength, Integrity. If these traits are exhibited in a squad then possibilities of where your squad can go is limitless. Now the question is it good to have a person or people who is the term "Jack of all Trades" or simply a staff who is good at certain aspects of these traits? Entirely up to you but in my opinion it better to focus on what it is your good at an gradually improve on the things your not. Passion One thing I see we lack is passion an with passion think of it as water. Now when water flows it flows downward to fill up its eventual destination. So to put this into perspective when it comes to KSI an most importantly DW. Me being the head of the division my passion I have for the community and the division needs to flow down all the way to the privates an recruits. It could be a variety of reasons as to why. If you say your gonna do something then you should follow through to the best of your abilities. Now if for a reason you cant make it then this is where communication comes in. If you cant do something let someone know. This is when the usage of an LOA is permitted. As of recent, however, there has been a spike of members that abuse this policy simply to shirk responsibilities. All LOA’s need to be approved by the proper chain of command meaning General or higher. Feeling “burnt out” is not a justifiable defense for taking an LOA. If you are granted an LOA yet you’re online playing every day with people more than you were off of LOA, you will be liable to face punishment and a possible rank loss. Integrate Recruits: It is important that when bringing in new members off of certain games, we as officers need to remember to help integrate and play those games with them. It does no good to recruit and dump them off with other people/squads all the time. It is our responsibility when we recruit someone of quality (somebody we want to play with) to hang out with them and show them the KSI way. Invite only parties: It is important to remember that during peak hours officers should not be in invite only parties. It sets a bad precedent for our members and might make them think that we don’t want to include them. Sometimes we have to be in invite only parties for meetings and lockdowns but for the most part we can and should be in open party's interacting with other people.That is the reason why we joined KSI. This template will be used to ensure that all squads in the process of splitting do so under the notion that everything that is required and needing to be done is completed before actually splitting. Communication It is important to keep in constant and open communication with your fellow officers. The officer staff can and should be a cohesive unit working to solve any and all problems that might arise. It is crucial that you maintain open communication by posting in your perspective officer chats, private messages or by getting in party's together. You guys and gals are a team and should always be working together toward the greater good for your squad/division. To be patient with each other and work together toward a common goal of better Communication with everyone. Chain Of Command: I know most of you Divisions have new or newly promoted Directors. Please understand they are there to help you and be apart of your team. If you do not allow your 7 staff to reach out to them for help then it can and will cause issues. Jumping over ranks is not healthy for a division either. If your issue in anyway could cause another issue because it could involve the rank above you then you can jump to the next rank. Also be patient with newly promoted officers of any and all ranks. As we all know you don’t always know everything about the rank till you are sitting in the rank. Cleaning Up Recruit/Squad Clubs & Tags: Please ensure that members promoted to PVT are being removed from your Recruit Club/Tag. When members are promoted to PVT, please ensure that they are being added to their squad club/tag at the time of the promotion or shortly after. This is to ensure that your tag is always up to date and accurate. This will also ensure that recruits are being promoted, and you are fluffing anyone overdue for promotion as they may no longer be interested in KSI. Generals and 7’s staff should work in unison to ensure that their clubs/tags are accurate and clean. Omega Sign Ins Please make sure that you and your staff are signing into the omega. There should be no reason why multiple 7's and generals are going offline for 4, 6 or even 7 days. Please remember that we do get notified when you are off for 4 days and when you hit 7 you will serve a rank suspension. In this RARE instance, this takes place only because you feel that utilizing this would get you the best fix or solution for any issue you have. This is not to be abused or mistaken for skipping chain of command for every little issue you come across because it may be convenient for you at the time. In most scenarios you should utilize your chain of command properly and if you are unable to get a response or solution to the problem after 24 hours since the initial contact, you can then go to the rank above or to the rank you feel could help your situation. Division Transfers: Although no Div Leader wants to lose members we as leaders can not deny a Div Transfer. Each member of KSI has the right to move divisions if the division is not working for them anymore. It is unhealthy to keep people in a division if they do not want to be there anymore. Also there should never be ANY stipulation on any transfer for any reason. Understand that your Dir can and should brief the other Div Leader and their Dir of the member they are taking. Change Is Good Change can be difficult at times but it is a necessary step in KSI’s progression. We know that sometimes changes happen and you might not always see completely the reasons for said change, if that is the case it is best to ask in a civilized way the reasons behind the changes instead of jumping to conclusions. As KSI moves forward with a progressive mindset it is important to keep an open mind when it comes to trying new things. Please ensure that you are actively searching for and teaching SGT that want to move up and be an officer within their respective squads. Due to recent changes to clan ops and the structure of squads , the member requirement is less which means trying to maintain the officer to member ratio during healthy growth is difficult. We as leaders need to strive to provide our officers and potential officers an avenue to discuss questions, ideas, concerns etc to help ensure they are not losing motivation and being burnt out. Game plan ideas with your directors, 7’s staff members as well as generals on ideas to help find the next generation of officers. Disagreements on Discord Please remember the the COC applies in your discord server. When chatting in there it is the same as being in a party. We don’t want to break the COC. This means Officers especially, you should be setting an example for others to follow. If you have a problem with something posted by another officer. Don’t argue about it in the chat. Follow the chain of command and to take care of the issue. Remember we praise in public and scold in private. Private to CPL: Please ensure that you are keeping track of your private’s and their promotions. Ideally members who go past the 2 week mark of their CPL promotion eligibility should be sent a message directing them to either get a hold of an officer or they will be fluffed out of the squad. Upcoming Squad Splits: As we are approaching a lot of upcoming squad splits due to the recent changes to the squads/officer requirements we will be working on a format that will be used as a template for all further squad splits. This template will be used to ensure that all squads in the process of splitting do so under the notion that everything that is required and needing to be done is completed before actually splitting. Division Transfers: Although no Div Leader wants to lose members we as leaders can not deny a Div Transfer. Each member of KSI has the right to move divisions if the division is not working for them anymore. It is unhealthy to keep people in a division if they do not want to be there anymore. Also there should never be ANY stipulation on any transfer for any reason. Understand that your Dir can and should brief the other Div Leader and their Dir of the member they are taking. Change Is Good Change can be difficult at times but it is a necessary step in KSI’s progression. We know that sometimes changes happen and you might not always see completely the reasons for said change, if that is the case it is best to ask in a civilized way the reasons behind the changes instead of jumping to conclusions. As KSI moves forward with a progressive mindset it is important to keep an open mind when it comes to trying new things. It is also essential that we are ensuring that Privates are being trained and moved up in a timely manner. Once a Private reaches the 2 week period, you need to be asking yourself, "Is this person fluff?". It is also just as important we are ensuring all Corporals are active in some capacity and not just fluff. Part of maintaining your Omega is making sure it matches your squad tag. Keeping on top of the Omega and the squad is part of your job as GENs and its part of the 7 staff to make sure you are maintaining them properly. It is a good habit when you add or remove anyone from one remove or add them from the other right then. After a lot of discussion we have made the decision to lower the message requirement to 2 messages a week. Try to make the 2 messages one a positive message and the other something related to the squad. For example a game night, the squad meeting, or a workshop. Observe and Report (7/30/19) Open and honest communication is important when we see something that is wrong. Sometimes people make mistakes that they don't know or think they are making but we as officers or members can help point it out to them or those above them. That way they can be corrected before it continues on for too long and becomes a problem. Know Your Limits (8/6/19) It is important that when dealing with KSI issues that might come up not to take on more than you can handle. Even though you might think that you have things handled, it is easy to bite off more than you can chew or burn yourself out. This will also ensure that recruits are being promoted, and you are fluffing anyone overdue for promotion as they may no longer be interested in KSI. Poaching Please remember that poaching other people doesn’t just apply to other communities it also applies to your fellow KSI members. Sometimes we might hear our fellow members from another squad or DIV complaining about being unhappy. When this happens we can offer the advice of talking to their General. A lot of times the General doesn’t know that your not happy and given the chance they might be able to help improve your KSI experience. It’s not Training Officers/Potential Officers - Please make sure when training SGT and/or training SSGT - CPT , that you are covering every aspect of what is expected of an officer. Utilize all the educational materials at your disposal such as Recruiting workshops, CEP workshops etc. This will allow you to ensure that the next generation of officers are being prepped and trained properly and that will create the foundation that you squad and division can use to build upon for long term success. (Workshops can be found in the “Performance Operations and CDC” section on the main page of the forums; use the sub-section to find the CEP workshops or contact your PO rep) Back to School Time - Just a reminder school is starting all across the country so with that in mind please be understanding of our school age members. Make sure they understand that communication is the biggest tool. Let them know that they need to inform their officers of their sport schedules and any other schedules anyone has. Trust and Truth - Part of being a member of KSI is having Integrity. A large Part in having a successful squad is always telling the truth and trusting that those officers above you can help out. We know that trust has to be earned (as it should be) but it is important to remember that those above you have been through said situation or know someone that can help. Withholding information hoping that it gets better or that I can quietly fix it later before someone notices is not healthy. Officers are here to help and can only help if they know what’s going on. Communication - It is important to keep in constant and open communication with your fellow officers. The officer staff can and should be a cohesive unit working to solve any and all problems that might arise. It is crucial that you maintain open communication by posting in your perspective officer chats, private messages or by getting in party's together. You guys and gals are a team and should always be working together toward the greater good for your squad/division. To be patient with each other and work together toward a common goal of better Communication with everyone. To me all these are very important things when it comes to KSI as a whole. Squad Obstacles Every Squad has it's good things but just as I am sure that there is good i know that there is bad. Whether it be low officer counts, lack of recruiting and training, member Retention an activity or lack of CAP (Communication Accountability Professionalism) every squad has something or some things wrong with them respectively. But there is a way to fix what is troubling your squad. An that identifying the obstacle or obstacles in the squad an getting them taken care of. Forums Participation The forums have a lot to offer in many different areas. An i understand that it maybe to difficult to navigate but once you get it down it's like riding a bicycle. But in regards to DW we have our own section on the forums as well as the other divisions do as well. So this week I wanna see some new people chatting on there. A lot of times the General doesn’t know that your not happy and given the chance they might be able to help improve your KSI experience. It’s not Training Officers/Potential Officers Please make sure when training SGT and/or training SSGT - CPT , that you are covering every aspect of what is expected of an officer. Utilize all the educational materials at your disposal such as Recruiting workshops, CEP workshops etc. This will allow you to ensure that the next generation of officers are being prepped and trained properly and that will create the foundation that you squad and division can use to build upon for long term success. (Workshops can be found in the “Performance Operations and CDC” section on the main page of the forums; use the sub-section to find the CEP workshops or contact your PO rep) Back to School Time Just a reminder school is starting all across the country so with that in mind please be understanding of our school age members. Make sure they understand that communication is the biggest tool. Let them know that they need to inform their officers of their sport schedules and any other schedules anyone has. Trust and Truth Part of being a member of KSI is having Integrity. A large Part in having a successful squad is always telling the truth and trusting that those officers above you can help out. We know that trust has to be earned (as it should be) but it is important to remember that those above you have been through said situation or know someone that can help. Withholding information hoping that it gets better or that I can quietly fix it later before someone notices is not healthy. Officers are here to help and can only help if they know what’s going on. Communication It is important to keep in constant and open communication with your fellow officers. The officer staff can and should be a cohesive unit working to solve any and all problems that might arise. It is crucial that you maintain open communication by posting in your perspective officer chats, private messages or by getting in party's together. You guys and gals are a team and should always be working together toward the greater good for your squad/division. That way other hostile gaming community's can't trick unsuspecting members into joining their party's. Posting Sign Ups On The Forums: When posting a sign ups on the forums for ANY event in KSI, please remember you can edit them until the cut-off. FYI you can edit any post you make on the forums. KSI Survey: Send your members and officers to the forums and participate in the KSI Survey. This is a survey to put your thoughts out to the community and leaders. Be honest with your answers and give information that could and will help KSI to the future. Event Channels Event channels for every Divisions Discord will be up and running within the next 48 hours. Fluff: As our Divisions Leaders it our responsibility to make sure our squads are actively fluffing. Send out a message and give them a few days to respond. If no response after 3 day then send another message stating they only have x amount of hours till they are fluff. This process should take 7 days from the first message to the last fluff message. Did You Know? (officers only) Did you know that a 1st LT and a 3rd LT are both the same rank. They are both LT's the numbers don’t matter, same thing with Captain's numbers we're all in this together to help. Nominating Officers for Outstanding Service Lvl 1: Outstanding Service Members Lvl 1 is an award that can be received by an officer in the ranks of SSGT to GEN. Most all of the Divisions 7 staff have their OSL1 but forget that they are not the only ones that can be or should be nominated for this award. Fall classic over With another fun and exciting fall classic behind us it's time to get back to business as usual by getting back in our usual routines and having fun playing games, recruiting, promotions etc… Encouragement: Remember we as leaders are looked up to by our members and officers, so taking 5 min to give a member or officer a good job goes a long way. Asking and not demanding is such a better way to get your Div moving in the right direction. An officer telling a RCTing member that they did a great job on there last RCT can lead to more positive growth. Kindness and communication is a great tool for our members and each other. There should be no reason why anyone besides the 7 staff of that respective division is posting. Teamwork Teamwork is key to success. Everyone should be working together with their staff and making sure that the day to day operations are being fulfilled. Now one thing that does need to increase is the recruiting. We are currently around 150 members now I wanna see DW in the next month grow to 170-180 area.
