Being a Community in a Community While all divisions are working diligently to improve their squads, it's important to remember what makes KSI unique. Our compassion and attention to detail to all of our members, we need to constantly remind ourselves that our success is only limited to our aspiring PVT’s and up. If we take care of them and develop a personal connection to our members, then our members will take care of us in return. Nominate them for our forums awards, ask them how their day is going, be there for them. This is how we will generate more interest that our divisional staff can use to enhance their atmospheres. It's important that as leaders we are always examining the whole atmosphere rather than just the problem in the spotlight. Discord COC Applys Please remember the COC applies in your discord server. Accepting Change Accepting change is always hard, but sometimes very necessary. Accepting help or new leaders into a squad or division can be hard. We as leaders should never be discouraged or angry about people coming in to help your squad and/or division. We should always choose to look at the situation in a passive sense, to value the positives to optimize the opportunity at hand. CT 201 Education is working on a program to take the place of the mythical "Lead 201" classes. It is currently called Critical Thinking 201 and will take a more interactive and personal approach to educating leaders and members. It is currently being trial run with Lead Mentors and Leadership Council to get it prepared and ready for the community. To qualify for these new classes you must meet the following requirements: Currently hold the rank of General or Higher in Clan Operations within KSI Must have Attended and Awarded for Lead 101. It will be a 5 week course with each class taking approximately about little over an hour. More details will be announced in the coming weeks. As you are RCTing new members don’t forget the members you already have. Building your squads is not only about building your officer staff. Without our CPLs and SGTs we would not have squads or divisions to lead. Help For The Right Reasons Make certain that when stepping up to help out that it's done for the right reasons and that it's done wholeheartedly. Being uncertain about remaining an officer can sometimes be worse than not being an officer. While recruiting and growth is praised and emphasized often, please remember that our recruiting members truly are the last wave of defense. Just because someone makes the comment about wanting to join KSI, does not mean they will make a good fit in your squad/division. Be Respectful Please remember that all of us come from different walks of life. Please treat everyone with dignity and respect that you would like to be shown. Especially in regards to the COVID 19 situation we are dealing with, please refrain from stating opinions or making jokes regarding it. Generally, you should know your audience and if someone doesn't like where the conversation is going or if you step over the line you can apologize and move on to a different subject. Remember we are all here to game and have fun with like minded individuals Inspiring The New Generation Being a leader in real life or KSI, can be extremely taxing. More often than not, because there is never a “How-To” Manual on being a great leader. It's not just about maintaining the recruiting goals, or the leaders roll call. Sometimes the next best thing you can focus on as a leader, is how the organization can retain its leadership talent while the pieces are still moving. Professionalism Please remember that in this community, we highly value respect between members regardless of rank or stature. It is important that during normal conversation (and specifically when having an issue with a member or leader) that professional tones and languages are maintained. Leaders: Just because you have a rank doesn't mean you can talk to members however you please. Members: Although you do not have a rank to lose, you are a member of this community and thus will show respect to each other. Any violations of respect or unprofessionalism should be reported to the proper chain of command. Taking The Punches In this crazy state we are all in sometimes we have to take some punches. Punches meaning members or leaders stepping down or leaving. We all know that sometimes it hits hard on the squad and the division but what we all do as leaders and members next will show our squads and division how to get through these tough times. You have to stand up, shake it off and get to work to move forward. Depend on your teams around you to push through this mess and achieve bigger and better things. Follow Through Sometimes things happen in real life that interfere with our commitments or something important in KSI requires our time and that's ok people understand. Just try not to make it a bad habit. If possible when we say that we will play with you later, or take care of a matter we should follow through. The problem with that is that we as KSI members can't do that while maintaining our integrity. Even though it's a competition and we want our division to win for bragging rights. We still need to remain civil to each other. At the end of the day we're all in KSI to have fun. Please be sure we are asking our members to play and not demanding them to participate in Spirit Week 2020. This is one of KSI’s biggest events during the year. So we need to remember that it’s about celebrating our amazing community. Members and Officers alike should enjoy this event. Our T&E and Production Teams put in a lot of work to make these events run smoothly and fun. Issues and Concerns During Spirit Week If you or your team has any kind of issue or concern during a match in Spirit Week please take it up your chain of command to your Director. If a decision is made during match play and everyone agrees then that is the end of it. If it is an issue that needs to be handled more in depth please allow your Director the time to deal with the issue or concern. We ask that all division and Division Leaders be respectful and help the Directors get the results you are wanting. Post Spirit Week After we all enjoy the festivities , we will get back to business with our squads and divisions. We should look to draft some goals for ourselves both short term (1 month long) and potentially a longer term goal (end of summer). These goals should be focused on improving the atmosphere in our areas and fixing any areas we are having a tough time with currently. Generals link up with your officer staff and co-founder for squad specific goals. Let's go into Fall Classic on a huge upswing!!! Game types on Omega Generals, please take the time to properly update your members Game types on the Omega. It does not take long to do, and will help provide you with more accurate analytics to understand your current atmosphere better. Valuing our CPTs: To grow KSI in theory, we would have to produce squads to give each of our members a home. But, in order to do that we need to have Gen-Ready Captains ready to take the next step in their careers. Generals, ask yourself. If you split your healthiest squad today, who would be that squad's General? If you can’t think of a name, then grow one. Spirit Week Scrimmage With the upcoming Spirit Week event, you should be signing up teams for all the events. If you have already signed up or are going to sign a team up look at the topic thread. Reach out to any and all teams that are posted and try to organize a scrimmage against them. This is for socializing purposes not to go sweaty! We are a community and while we may be organized into different squads and divisions it doesn't mean we should socialize with each other. Activity Feed Roughly a month ago, changes were made in the recruiting process, in which we will utilize the activity feed to go back 30 days as a requirement. However with Xbox consistently having issues with activity feeds not surpassing 10-14 days back, KSI will now utilize the Watchlist. This list shows screenshots and game captures that can help establish if the account is older than 30 days or not. If upon checking BOTH Activity feed and Watchlist and cannot see at least 30 days back then the individual does not meet the requirements to Join KSI in any facet. If you are using the Xbox App, the watchlist is called "Captures" and can be found next to following if you go to check out their profile. Meet New People! : In KSI, the community is as big as you want it to be. Try to meet a new person a day and make your circle a little bigger! Co-Hosting Game Nights As officers we should always look to encourage our members to play a bigger role within the squad. To wrap up June going into July, let's encourage some SGT within your squads to co-host a Game night alongside an Officer. Building camaraderie within the squad is vital to a squad's success. Remembering Our Lower Ranks As officers and leaders sometimes we forget that we have members that are below the officer ranks. These are the heartbeat of our squads and divisions. Please remember to reach out to you members on a regular basis. Being positive and reaching out to them can sometimes produce new officers. So be that positive light and leader our squads and divisions need. Respect Be mindful and show respect to your fellow members. Please remember that being an officer in KSI is completely voluntary. When an officer takes a day off from KSI we as leaders need to respect them. Ask yourself "is it really an emergency?" "Can it wait until tomorrow?" If we message someone and ask them to take care of something on their day off, then they might feel pressured into doing it and that’s being disrespectful to that person. We all need a break every so often and that’s ok. There’s no shame in taking a day off and we shouldn't imply that there is by making them carry on business as usual. Actions speak louder than words. Don't Be Toxic During a game night sometimes people tend to get a little bit enraged at the game. Especially when we die repeatedly. While this is normal please try to keep the toxicity down. When yelling out the C.O.C. always applies and we can't and should not use derogatory terms against our fellow members. Join Rejoin Section Please remember that a Join or Rejoin app only the 7's staff can post on them. Also please do it in a timely manner so that they don't become inactive or delay a member from joining KSI. 7's staff you NEED to reach out to the applicants via xbox in order to interview them. Being a Positive Influence Being the positive in your squads and divisions can and will make an impact. I know when things are hard and officer counts are low being positive is one of our hardest jobs as leaders and members. Discord Voice Chats Xbox parties have been acting up a lot recently making it next to impossible to hold meetings. Some divisions already have an officer voice chat. For those divisions that don't it will be a welcome addition to help with Gens meetings and any other ones. Training Be sure that all our future officers are trained correctly. The future of KSI depends on officers being trained correctly and efficiently. Training members that want to be leaders will help the TEAM out in the long run by easing the workload. Always remember if you lead your team they will follow. What I mean by that is if you ask your squads and divisions to do something such as recruiting and game nights you should also be doing them as well. Being Vigilant As the number of issues and members leaving and joining TSB we as a community need to be vigilant. Pay attention to party invites that you receive. Make sure you check people out before joining parties. When your members are RCTing be sure they are taking their time and really looking at their RCT. TSB and other communities will try anything to get at KSI. Also be sure that your members and officers are passing any info to the 7s team so they can put it out across the community. Stay focused on KSI and keep being the leaders your divisions need. If you or anyone has questions please reach out to your officers or 7s. Work Together Sometimes situations come up that might require help. Don't be afraid to accept help. When others offer to help it's not that they think you can't handle it but they want to help. Working together makes the workload lighter and everyone can continue to do their part. Invites When hosting game nights make certain to invite everyone from the club not just those that are online. Sometimes people appear offline for one reason or another and might forget to appear back online. If we see someone online by themselves we can invite them for an unofficial game night just to hang out. Making people feel welcome just like we were. Member Retention Every rank from RCT all the way up is important. SGTs to PVTS get lost within the day to day doings of the community. Officers and Members of the community it is our job to make sure all members are being invited to all activities within the squad and division. If there is a member that you haven’t spoken to in a while, reach out and see what is going on and get them back active with the squad and division Communication Communication is and will always be our biggest tool we as leaders have. Remember not only communicating to our leaders is important but communicating to our members is also just as important. Having that open door with leaders and members make the TEAM work better and build better. Being Vigilant As the number of issues and members leaving and joining TSB we as a community need to be vigilant. Pay attention to party invites that you receive. Make sure you check people out before joining parties. When your members are RCTing be sure they are taking their time and really looking at their RCT. TSB and other communities will try anything to get at KSI. Also be sure that your members and officers are passing any info to the 7s team so they can put it out across the community. Invites When hosting game nights make certain to invite everyone from the club not just those that are online. Sometimes people appear offline for one reason or another and might forget to appear back online. Ronin did great things over his 8 year career and is a great friend and mentor to alot. Obviously losing Ronin is a big hit to the community and he will be missed. We wish him luck in his future endeavors and hold no ill will against him. Finding Potential Officers: Remember as we are growing our squads, we do need officers to help handle the day to day activities for the squad. We will never force anyone to be an officer rather as leaders we can try ways to motivate those who have at least thought about stepping up. Recruiting workshops & CEP workshops are ideal events to host to help introduce what is required of an officer. If people approach you or your officers about the possibility of stepping up then do your best to assist them. For members who want more information about becoming an officer please contact your officer staff and/or general for more information. KSI Hydra Chat Standard Procedure: Moving forward if any problems come up involving Hydra please report the information including proof up the chain of command to your Division Leader. The div leader will then inform their director and they will pass the proof on to Hydra. They will look into and deal with said person if they are still part of Hydra. Please be patient it might take 48 to 72 hours giving that it involves multiple communities. This will be a new positive step in the right direction towards peace. It might take a little bit of time to work out all the little problems. We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding. Handling Issues: If a member comes to an Officer or 7 staff with an issue please allow 24-72 hours for the issue to be handled. Sometimes life gets in the way of handling these things in a timely manner. After the 72 hour mark reach out to the Officer that you first contacted. If you reach out with no luck then and only then go to the next rank in line. Although the 7s are a last resort to reach out to they are still there to help resolve any issues. We encourage all members to follow the Chain of Command. . Hydra Game Plan Moving Forward Starting 9/1/2020 we will be downgrading Hydra from Blacklist Communities to DNH. This will be a 3 month trial period if everything goes the way we hope then at that point we will reevaluate the next step (either remove them from DNH or give the trial more time). DM will keep them on a divisional security risk for the next 3 months. Anyone that wants to have Hydra on their friends list can do a Division Transfer without penalty of a rank demotion or a 3 day wait period. Keep in mind that upon a Div Transfer there has to be a seat available where the member is transferring. If there is not a seat in said rank you would drop to the next available rank or choose a different division. This will also be for members who choose to transfer into DM. Once everyone approves the transfer can be completed. Also we will be revamping the blacklist to remove other communities that no longer pose a risk to KSI. J2H will remain blacklisted. If people approach you or your officers about the possibility of stepping up then do your best to assist them. KSI Hydra Chat Standard Procedure Moving forward if any problems come up involving Hydra please report the information including proof up the chain of command to your Division Leader. The div leader will then inform their director and they will pass the proof on to Hydra. They will look into and deal with said person if they are still part of Hydra. Please be patient it might take 48 to 72 hours giving that it involves multiple communities. This will be a new positive step in the right direction towards peace. It might take a little bit of time to work out all the little problems. We appreciate everyone's patience and understanding. Handling Issues If a member comes to an Officer or 7 staff with an issue please allow 24-72 hours for the issue to be handled. Sometimes life gets in the way of handling these things in a timely manner. After the 72 hour mark reach out to the Officer that you first contacted. If you reach out with no luck then and only then go to the next rank in line. Although the 7s are a last resort to reach out to they are still there to help resolve any issues. We encourage all members to follow the Chain of Command. Communication Please remember to always communicate any and all concerns that you might have with your officer staff.
