Please ensure that you are actively searching for and teaching SGT that want to move up and be an officer within their respective squads. Due to recent changes to clan ops and the structure of squads , the member requirement is less which means trying to maintain the officer to member ratio during healthy growth is difficult. We as leaders need to strive to provide our officers and potential officers an avenue to discuss questions, ideas, concerns etc to help ensure they are not losing motivation and being burnt out. Game plan ideas with your directors, 7’s staff members as well as generals on ideas to help find the next generation of officers. Disagreements on Discord Please remember the the COC applies in your discord server. When chatting in there it is the same as being in a party. We don’t want to break the COC. This means Officers especially, you should be setting an example for others to follow. If you have a problem with something posted by another officer. Don’t argue about it in the chat. Follow the chain of command and to take care of the issue. Remember we praise in public and scold in private. Private to CPL: Please ensure that you are keeping track of your private’s and their promotions. Ideally members who go past the 2 week mark of their CPL promotion eligibility should be sent a message directing them to either get a hold of an officer or they will be fluffed out of the squad. As squads continue to prepare and approach splits, it is ideal that you have NO overdue CPL promotions. Upcoming Squad Splits: As we are approaching a lot of upcoming squad splits due to the recent changes to the squads/officer requirements we will be working on a format that will be used as a template for all further squad splits. This template will be used to ensure that all squads in the process of splitting do so under the notion that everything that is required and needing to be done is completed before actually splitting. Division Transfers: Although no Div Leader wants to lose members we as leaders can not deny a Div Transfer. Each member of KSI has the right to move divisions if the division is not working for them anymore. It is unhealthy to keep people in a division if they do not want to be there anymore. Also there should never be ANY stipulation on any transfer for any reason. Understand that your Dir can and should brief the other Div Leader and their Dir of the member they are taking. Change Is Good Change can be difficult at times but it is a necessary step in KSI’s progression. We know that sometimes changes happen and you might not always see completely the reasons for said change, if that is the case it is best to ask in a civilized way the reasons behind the changes instead of jumping to conclusions. As KSI moves forward with a progressive mindset it is important to keep an open mind when it comes to trying new things. Forums Sign In If your having problems Signing in on the forums you can have an officer message Riot on the forums or you can message him on Xbox KSI Riiot 7 and he will be more than happy to help you out. Donors Please make certain to join the VIP section by applying for the donor award. In order to qualify for this you just have to have spent 10 dollars by either subscribing to twitch tier 1 for two months (free with amazon prime) or tier 2 or tier 3 sub. One can also qualify for the donor award by donating bitcoins on twitter or by donating directly on the forums you just need to include a photo with proof of your donation. We have a special 3 day donors only event coming up next month where only those in the VIP section can participate. This is KSI’s way to thank all of you donors for helping out our community. Be respectful Please remember that all of us come from different walks of life. Please treat everyone with dignity and respect that you would like to be shown. Also you should know your audience and if someone doesn't like where the conversation is going or if you step over the line you can apologize and move on to a different subject. Pride It is good to have pride in your squad/Division but having too much pride can be as bad as having little or no pride. It is good to get in the spirit of hyping yourselves up but not at the expense of your fellow KSI members we all get in a bit of a funk squad or division wise but with hard work and dedication it is only temporary. It’s very easy to assume control but if we do, it prohibits officers and members from learning from their mistakes. When we advise members in the decision making progress, it allows them to grow as leaders within the community. Remember to not take control when they make a mistake and do not abandon them but rather help them pick up the pieces again. KSI Itachii, Templar’s new gen would like to thank everyone in Templar for being so welcoming in the last 2 months and making this my new home and I can’t wait to do amazing things with this squad and improve it every day and is looking forward to hanging out and gaming with you guys if he hasn’t done so already as he is sure he hasn’t met everyone yet. Discord is a great way for communicating with more members in our division, look for more members to game with, have jokes with other members, post gifs and make new friends because that’s what KSI Is really all about but obviously still know you’re limits and the C.O.C. still applies in the discord. With now the split officially done and the squad is starting to grow again, positions for new officers are now open! If you are interested in being an officer and moving up in the KSI ranks then please contact any officer or KSI Itachii and we will train and guide you the best we can. It is also essential that we are ensuring that Privates are being trained and moved up in a timely manner. Once a Private reaches the 2 week period, you need to be asking yourself, "Is this person fluff?". It is also just as important we are ensuring all Corporals are active in some capacity and not just fluff. Part of maintaining your Omega is making sure it matches your squad tag. Keeping on top of the Omega and the squad is part of your job as GENs and its part of the 7 staff to make sure you are maintaining them properly. Sometimes we might hear our fellow members from another squad or Division complaining about being unhappy. When this happens we can offer the advice of talking to their General. A lot of times the General doesn’t know that the member isn't happy and given the chance they might be able to help improve their KSI experience. It can be considered poaching if we encourage them to come to our squad "we'll gladly take you" or "you will always have a home here". We wouldn't want someone poaching our friends from our squad. The officer staff can and should be a cohesive unit working to solve any and all problems that might arise. It is crucial that you maintain open communication by posting in your perspective officer chats, private messages or by getting in party's together. You guys and gals are a team and should always be working together toward the greater good for your squad/division. To be patient with each other and work together toward a common goal of better Communication with everyone. KSL Tags: All officers please remember to create KSL tags of yourself. That way other hostile gaming community's can't trick unsuspecting members into joining their party's. Creating a KSL account only takes a few minutes and if you need any help creating one feel free to ask your Gen or one of your 7's. They will be more than happy to help. Stay Safe: Please remember to be safe and check party invites. It's a really good idea to check the profile of people especially if it's someone you don't know or somebody that doesn't usually invites you to party's. A few things to look at that are dead giveaways would be a 0 gamerscore, also look at the number of people following them. If it turns out to be a fake account just block them and move on once they are blocked they can no longer send you party invites or messages and you can safely go back to playing games and having fun. Be Happy: Please remember to have fun and be happy with what your doing with KSI. Whether your being an officer or a member remember that it is your KSI experience and it's important to remember to balance ones responsibility that we take on and to remember to have fun and be happy with our time in KSI. They are both LT's the numbers don’t matter, same thing with Captain's numbers we're all in this together to help. It sets a bad precedent for our members and might make them think that we don’t want to include them. Sometimes we have to be in invite only parties for meetings and lockdowns but for the most part we can and should be in open party's interacting with other people.That is the reason why we joined KSI. Member Retention Every rank from RCT all the way up is important! Too often do we see CPLs and PVTs getting lost within the daily doings of the community. As leaders and members of the community it is our job to ensure all members are being included in all activities within the squad and division. If there is a member you haven't spoken too or seen in a squad meeting for a while, reach out to them, see what's happening. Ask them what kind of games and activities they want to see in the squad. If your team can succeed together and fail together it builds a bigger and better team. Keeping all lines of communication open with each other good or bad helps that team build strength and divisions. Let Them Learn: Sometimes we tend to cut corners and just go to someone higher up that you know has the answers or might feel more comfortable talking to, but in doing so it inhibits the person that if following the proper chain of command to learn and grow from experiences. That is the way that people learn how to handle situations if they don't know the answer they will find out and that is how people learn, that's how the people above them learned and know all that they know. Bye Bye Numbers: We continue to grow and mature as a community and strive to improve ourselves. One of those areas is to get rid of old antiquated ideas doing it because that's how it's always been done. As of now there will no longer be a number cast system for LT's or CPT's the only 2 ranks in KSI that has had them. The numbers don't matter a LT is an LT but sometimes people get the idea that a 1st LT is better than a 3rd LT but that isn't true. This system will make things a lot easier for Gens when it comes time to promote someone up because it doesn't matter the amount of time someone is at said rank or their number it only matters who is doing the most work as it should be. There will still be max one GEN, 3 CPT's, 3 LT's, and of course 3 SSGT's per each squad. In short, we hope that this will promote the ideal that the LTs and the Cpts are all equals and teammates without anything that could cause a divide among them. It is important, that if officers enter into a relationship with a member or fellow officer no matter the squad or division they are in even including the same division. It is always a good idea to let your Gen or 7's staff know about said relationship as soon as possible. You don't have to go into details just have to say "hey i'm dating so and so" that way if there is any drama that might affect the squad or division, the GEN and/or 7's staff can get ahead of the situation. Don't Shame Games We all joke around with each other but sometimes we can cross the line and give certain games in party's or the discord chats a hard time by saying one game is better than the other or that game is trash. This is something of a personal opinion. People can and will enjoy playing what they enjoy and if we are actively bashing a game is not going to change their opinion all it's going to do is push our fellow members away. We were all recruited off of a variety of different games and that diversity is what makes KSI what we are today. Member Retention Every rank from RCT all the way up is important. SGTs to PVTS get lost within the day to day doings of the community. Officers and Members of the community it is our job to make sure all members are being invited to all activities within the squad and division. If there is a member that you haven’t spoken to in a while, reach out and see what is going on and get them back active with the squad and division. Game Nights and Teamwork Game nights should be a team effort, it should never be left to one officer to hold them. Officers should also be working as a team and helping each other. Being a team makes the work easier and not as overwhelming. Simply communicate to each other, we have these cool Discord servers for a reason. The Discord servers are a great tool as long as we utilize it as such. Never be afraid to reach out for guidance or help. Accepting Change Accepting change is always hard, but sometimes very necessary. Accepting help or new leaders into a squad or division can be hard. We as leaders should never be discouraged or angry about people coming in to help your squad and/or division. At the end of the day it’s about keeping your squad or family healthy and active. It’s about building up those around you that have been fighting for a squad alone. Never Be Afraid To Ask If you ever have a question don't be afraid to ask. There are no stupid questions. Asking questions is one of the best ways to learn something new. Sometimes we might think that we know the answer but if uncertain it's best to ask and make certain rather than make a simple mistake. It is important, that if officers enter into a relationship with a member or fellow officer no matter the squad or division they are in even including the same division. It is always a good idea to let your Gen or 7's staff know about said relationship as soon as possible. You don't have to go into details just have to say "hey i'm dating so and so" that way if there is any drama that might affect the squad or division, the GEN and/or 7's staff can get ahead of the situation. Don't Shame Games We all joke around with each other but sometimes we can cross the line and give certain games in party's or the discord chats a hard time by saying one game is better than the other or that game is trash. This is something of a personal opinion. People can and will enjoy playing what they enjoy and if we are actively bashing a game is not going to change their opinion all it's going to do is push our fellow members away. We were all recruited off of a variety of different games and that diversity is what makes KSI what we are today. Member Retention Every rank from RCT all the way up is important. SGTs to PVTS get lost within the day to day doings of the community. Officers and Members of the community it is our job to make sure all members are being invited to all activities within the squad and division. If there is a member that you haven’t spoken to in a while, reach out and see what is going on and get them back active with the squad and division. Game Nights and Teamwork Game nights should be a team effort, it should never be left to one officer to hold them. Officers should also be working as a team and helping each other. Being a team makes the work easier and not as overwhelming. Simply communicate to each other, we have these cool Discord servers for a reason. The Discord servers are a great tool as long as we utilize it as such. Never be afraid to reach out for guidance or help. Communication Please remember to always communicate any and all concerns that you might have with your officer staff. If something doesn't seem right and you are not certain ask someone AKA an officer higher than you to bring it to their attention. If they don't know that there is a problem then they can't fix it. This can lead to bigger problems if it's not addressed early it can cause a snowball effect and grow fast. Being a TEAM within your divisions has to be as big of a deal as COMMUNICATION is. Working together as a team makes the workload lighter but it also shows a united front. If the 7s staff communicates with the GENs and makes them feel like the bigger picture amazing things can happen. But please understand the final say and path of the division is in the hands of the 7 staff but having info from everyone helps make these decisions better for the division. Sometimes it's hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel but it does get better, we just have to wait it out. The important thing is to not get overwhelmed to the point of wanting to leave KSI. RCT To PVT to CPL: As it is always awesome bringing in new RCTs we as officers and 7s have to stay on top of their promotions. Once they are made a PVT after their 24-48 hour hold on the RCT Club/Tag they have to be promoted to a CPL in 7 days!! Make sure these promotions are happening in that timely manner. If your officers CAN NOT get them promoted within 14-20 days after a promotion to PVT then they need to be removed!! It does no good for us to hold on to dead RCTs. There is no excuse for a PVT sitting on Omega for months at a time. If your squad has any PVTs that are older than 20 days they need to be removed ASAP!! We need to start holding our GENs to this and if they are not the problem then we need to hold the 7 staff accountable. Utilizing the Forums: It's important that we are making sure we are being active on the Forums and pushing all members to also be active. The earlier people are introduced to the Forums the better. What better time to introduce them to the forums then before a big event like spring break. This gives people a chance to get familiarised with the layout and general navigation on the forums as it can be daunting at first. Then when they become an officer they will already know the basics. Our compassion and attention to detail to all of our members, we need to constantly remind ourselves that our success is only limited to our aspiring PVT’s and up. If we take care of them and develop a personal connection to our members, then our members will take care of us in return. Nominate them for our forums awards, ask them how their day is going, be there for them. This is how we will generate more interest that our divisional staff can use to enhance their atmospheres. Social Network: KSI is a social gaming community; which means you have an expansive list of potential people to play with both within your division or across the community. Utilizing the forums, meeting through LFG posts or through mutual friends can create awesome friendships. It also helps if you play at an odd hour in the day that maybe you can find others who fit your schedule. We challenge you as well as all KSI members to go out and make 1 new friend this week. Transparency: Divisional & Squad Leadership - Please remember that although every decision may not be one open for discussion/debate, It is important to be as transparent as possible with the leaders and members beneath you. When making decisions about what direction a squad/division heads in or any promotions/demotions that may be received, It is important to keep those under you informed as to why these things are happening and why certain decisions are made. The ultimate way to reach a feeling of inclusion and family is for people to have their thoughts and feelings are taken into consideration. Team Building: Including you officer staff in decisions can make a huge impact in your squad and its morale. There are several great things that can come from Team Building. The communication within your team will get strong and better. Working together and mentoring the future of your squads, divisions, and KSI is how this community survives anything that is thrown at. So build your TEAM!! Build a team that is willing to grow change and reach for better!!!
