It does no good to recruit and dump them off with other people/squads all the time. It is our responsibility when we recruit someone of quality (somebody we want to play with) to hang out with them and show them the KSI way Squad Tag Security Please remember when we are recruiting new members that they DO NOT add the squad tags during the recruiting process. This could create a security issue for the squad and its members. The recruit clubs/tags are used to weed out and are a second line of defence to keep those who would try to get into KSI and create issues for the squads. The Squad tags are not to be added until they are promoted to PVT during the training portion. Reporting Issues Members and officers encountering issues that need to go up the chain of command need to be sure they are going up. Having an issue in the ranks of your division and not reporting it to the leadership can and will become very toxic. Withholding issues because “I did not want to say anything” is a problem and needs to be corrected immediately. We don't want it to wait and fester. Instead we want to get ahead of any issues and correct any issues before they become big issues resulting in rank suspension or removal from KSI. Waiting until an issue gets to where squads and divisions are losing members and officers is not healthy. Leadership Development Class Sign-Ups This will be the last Leadership Development Class of 2019. After the first of the year we will start the classes again. Relationships (Officers and up) There is nothing wrong with dating a fellow KSI member we can't help who we fall for. It is important that if officers enter into a relationship with a member or fellow officer no matter the squad both are in. It is always a good idea to let your Gen or 7's staff know about said relationship. You don't have to go into details just have to say "hey im dating so and so" that way if there is any drama that might affect the squad or division , then the GEN or 7's staff can get ahead of the situation. We want you! Are you interested in becoming an officer? Squads are always looking for more people to help out and give back to this wonderful community. If you have some extra time on your hands becoming an officer is fairly simple. You can host game nights, promote people up maybe even help recruit someone and show them the KSI love. If your interested you can ask one of your officers or your GEN about it. They are always looking for more people to help out and they would certainly appreciate the help. The more helpers the lighter the workload. Member Retention Every rank from RCT all the way up is important! Too often do we see CPLs and PVTs getting lost within the daily doings of the community. As leaders and members of the community it is our job to ensure all members are being included in all activities within the squad and division. If there is a member you haven't spoken too or seen in a squad meeting for a while, reach out to them, see what's happening. Ask them what kind of games and activities they want to see in the squad or how things can be improved to make things better for them. Dirty laundry When airing one's dirty laundry or a beef with someone don't post it in the casual chat on discord. Be an adult and discuss it with either the person you might have a problem with or bring it up to an officer. The casual chat is there for people to chat and have fun. There is no need to bring negativity into the chat that just ruins everyone's day. Treating Your Officers Right One of the biggest things we have as leaders is the ability to treat others with respect and communication. Treating your officers like team members and working together will be more productive for the squad and division. If your team can succeed together and fail together it builds a bigger and better team. Keeping all lines of communication open with each other good or bad helps that team build strength and divisions. Respect When in party's and on discord/forums please remember to respect your fellow KSI members boundaries. It is always fun to joke around with each other but sometimes we can cross that line unintentionally and we never would want to do it intentionally. It is good to know our audience and not get so rambunctious or lude discussions that we start making people uncomfortable. They might be afraid to say anything and we want to keep it somewhat family-friendly and COC appropriate. Let Them Learn (12/10/19) Sometimes we tend to cut corners and just go to someone higher up that you know has the answers or might feel more comfortable talking to, but in doing so it inhibits the person that if following the proper chain of command to learn and grow from experiences. That is the way that people learn how to handle situations if they don't know the answer they will find out and that is how people learn, that's how the people above them learned and know all that they know. Bye Bye Numbers (12/10/19) We continue to grow and mature as a community and strive to improve ourselves. One of those areas is to get rid of old antiquated ideas doing it because that's how it's always been done. As of now there will no longer be a number cast system for LT's or CPT's the only 2 ranks in KSI that has had them. The numbers don't matter a LT is an LT but sometimes people get the idea that a 1st LT is better than a 3rd LT but that isn't true. This system will make things a lot easier for Gens when it comes time to promote someone up because it doesn't matter the amount of time someone is at said rank or their number it only matters who is doing the most work as it should be. There will still be max one GEN, 3 CPT's, 3 LT's, and of course 3 SSGT's per each squad. In short, we hope that this will promote the ideal that the LTs and the Cpts are all equals and teammates without anything that could cause a divide among them. No Meetings (12/17/19) Due to Xmas and New Year's we won't be having NO MANDATORY MEETINGS WHATSOEVER the next two weeks starting next week. The notes will still be posted. Whether or not we all celebrate the holliday's a majority of members do and want to spend time with friends and family. So please enjoy the time away from the various meetings and come back ready for a new year and a progressive outlook on KSI. The purpose behind records is to keep an organized file that can be utilized for future events which can be used to make a decision (mainly in Join/Rejoin section and appeals in Courts). The information required:Gamertag of Offending Member: Offense: Evidence/Witnesses: Punishment (If member was given one): Members of Leadership involved: These should be posted within 24 hours of the incident by the 7s staff member that primarily handled it. Any questions speak to your Director. Training and Education Please remember that when it comes to being an officer and a leader within KSI, the excuse "Noone ever told me" is not valid. There is a wealth of information throughout the community that you can utilize. For those learning, you have CEP and PO written workshops that are filled with information. For those mentoring or teaching others, keep an eye out on any errors or mistakes being made and turn it into a learning experience. Be active with increasing your knowledge. Getting Back To The Grind - Now that the holidays are over, it's time to get back to work!!! Divisions and Squads all over KSI need help and work. We all need to work together and build these squads, divisions, and the community. So with that being said let’s get out there and recruit and mentor the future of this community. Any questions speak to your Director. Training and Education Please remember that when it comes to being an officer and a leader within KSI, the excuse "Noone ever told me" is not valid. There is a wealth of information throughout the community that you can utilize. For those learning, you have CEP and PO written workshops that are filled with information. For those mentoring or teaching others, keep an eye out on any errors or mistakes being made and turn it into a learning experience. Be active with your increasing your knowledge. Leadership Development Class Sign-Ups: New class signup' s will start next month (Feb 2020) and classes will begin in February . Private to CPL: Please ensure that you are keeping track of your private’s and their promotions. Ideally members who go past the 2 week mark of their CPL promotion eligibility should be sent a message directing them to either get ahold of an officer or they will be fluffed out of the squad. As squads continue to prepare and approach splits, it is ideal that you have NO overdue CPL promotions New Year New Award Show Sunday the 19th at 6pm EST the board will be hosting "of the year's award show. It is a chance for them to announce who was the best of the best at their positions for the year people nominated by members just like you. So we formally invite you to join them in honoring our fellow members and there will be lots of exciting announcements about what's coming up for KSI in the new year/new decade. Getting Back To The Grind - Now that the holidays are over, it's time to get back to work!!! Divisions and Squads all over KSI need help and work. We all need to work together and build these squads, divisions, and the community. So with that being said let’s get out there and recruit and mentor the future of this community. Don't Boil Over Don't let things get all bottled up. If you have a problem with a fellow member and can't forgive and forget then don't let it fester. Get with an officer to help mediate said dispute. (For both your protection that's what they are there for) Sometimes confronting the problem head-on is the best solution so that everyone can move on and be friends again and continue to game on. Professionalism Please remember that as leaders we are expected to handle situations while remaining professional and not escalating the situation with negative actions. Use these tips when you are handling problems with a member : Ensure your in an Invite Only Party. Politely remove any non-essential guests or members. Stay calm and keep a steady tone of voice. Maintain emotional control at all times. Uphold a neutral, and professional position, regardless of personal feelings. If at any point you feel your unable to handle the situation professionally then allow another member in a rank equivalent or higher to help. Being Patient Rebuilding squads or Divisions takes time and understanding. Getting a slow squad back on its feet takes the entire team not just one person. Taking time to work together and COMMUNICATE and it will make anything a faster and better experience for your members and your officers. We were all recruited off of a variety of different games and that diversity is what makes KSI what we are today. Member Retention Every rank from RCT all the way up are important. SGTs to PVTS get lost within the day to day doings of the community. Officers and Members of the community it is our job to make sure all members are being invited to all activities within the squad and division. If there is a member that you haven’t spoken to in a while, reach out and see what is going on and get them back active with the squad and division. Game Nights and Teamwork Game nights should be a team effort, it should never be left to one officer to hold them. Officers should also be working as a team and helping each other. Being a team makes the work easier and not as overwhelming. Simply communicate to each other, we have these cool Discord servers for a reason. The Discord servers are a great tool as long as we utilize it as such. Never be afraid to reach out for guidance or help. DW Notes Recruiting So as both squads respectively are sitting in the high 70s to low 80s range one thing has become apparent that Recruiting has taken a major hit across the division now with both squads most certainly having fluff its time to get that fluff out an the best way to do that is recruit to replace. Member Retention An going from the past note member retention is something that has been lacking in the squads as well when you look at the parties of Officers its thr same individuals in there each an every time now that isn't a bad thing to have a group of friends here but what about the other members in the squad that join for somebody to play with. Professionalism Our actions an the way we conduct ourselves is something can set a precedent for how members an officers a like begin to act an if it's not changed now then the concept of the inmates begin to run the asylum could become a reality. Squad Activities Squad activities is one of the most important keys to the success or failure of a squad or division now the subject that we are referring to is Game Nights so we all enjoy a game night no matter what it is but the one thing that isn't enjoyable is the cancellation of said game night now a lot of factors come into play as to why this happens real life issues is one that is fine but one that isn't is the cohost backs out in a situation like this either find a a new cohost or host it solo the whole "well my cohost isn't here or online so I guess I dont have to host " is something that will not cut it. HELP From Other Leaders Sometimes divisions or squads need help moving forward or getting back on their feet. Also sometimes we as leaders we do not have time to talk to the division about these changes we have to act and make things happen. DW Notes Recruiting So as both squads respectively are sitting in the high 70s to low 80s range one thing has become apparent that Recruiting has taken a major hit across the division now with both squads most certainly having fluff its time to get that fluff out an the best way to do that is recruit to replace. Member Retention An going from the past note member retention is something that has been lacking in the squads as well when you look at the parties of Officers its the same individuals in there each an every time now that isn't a bad thing to have a group of friends here but what about the other members in the squad that join for somebody to play with. Professionalism Our actions and the way we conduct ourselves is something that can set a precedent for how members and officers alike begin to act and if it's not changed now then the concept of the inmates begin to run the asylum could become a reality. If people approach you or your officers about the possibility of stepping up then do your best to assist them. You can challenge for a gun crown at any time, as long as both of you are online and available. DHOF for DW - Divisional Hall of Fame is one of the most prestigious awards in the community. It showcases who truly goes the extra mile not just for their squad, but for the division. For DW, we have about 3 or 4 people who are eligible to be in the DHOF. Taking Initiative and Teamwork -This is one of things we've struggled with as a division for a good while now we do have some individuals who take the initiative to get things done and has a good sense of teamwork but it's not a United front on both ends so let's get out there do what were supposed to do without having to be reminded by divisional leadership and in the sense of teamwork it has became very apparent that it's the same individuals carrying more of the work loads than others and that isnt fair to them nor the squad it's very detrimental to the squad as a whole. DHOF for DW - Divisional Hall of Fame is one of the most prestigious awards in the community. It showcases who truly goes the extra mile not just for their squad, but for the division. Good Sportsmanship: With the Spring Break event fast approaching we ALL need to remember a few things. Treating other members and players with respect. RCT To PVT to CPL: As it is always awesome bringing in new RCTs we as officers and 7s have to stay on top of their promotions. Once they are made a PVT after their 24-48 hour hold on the RCT Club/Tag they have to be promoted to a CPL in 7 days!! Make sure these promotions are happening in that timely manner. If your officers CAN NOT get them promoted within 14-20 days after a promotion to PVT then they need to be removed!! It does no good for us to hold on to dead RCTs. There is no excuse for a PVT sitting on Omega for months at a time. If your squad has any PVTs that are older than 20 days they need to be removed ASAP!! We need to start holding our GENs to this and if they are not the problem then we need to hold the 7 staff accountable. Utilizing the Forums: It's important that we are making sure we are being active on the Forums and pushing all members to also be active. The earlier people are introduced to the Forums the better. What better time to introduce them to the forums then before a big event like spring break. This gives people a chance to get familiarised with the layout and general navigation on the forums as it can be daunting at first. Then when they become an officer they will already know the basics. Team Building: Including you officer staff in decisions can make a huge impact in your squad and its morale. There are several great things that can come from Team Building. The communication within your team will get strong and better. Working together and mentoring the future of your squads, divisions, and KSI is how this community survives anything that is thrown at. We all know what it’s like to have no one show up to a game night / meeting but we can support each other, we’re all in this together How to handle Harassment Unfortunately in the online world, sometimes we may fall prey to toxic individuals' continuous harassment. Then, report it to your respective Chain of Command and please allow our leaders to work on these offenses diligently. Training your replacements help build up an officer staff and provide extra help for your squad. Starset Notes: These next couple weeks, we really need to focus on recruiting. We are dipping into rocky territory. Remember, you make your experience in the community. Growth and sustainability are 2 key components of squad building and we need to be trying to achieve that. Recruiting and Member Retention Venum Notes: - Teamwork is a problem in both squads. One or 2 people can’t pull all the weight in the officer staff. If a fellow officer is hosting a game night / meeting and your online either by yourself or with fellow squad mates you can and should join the game night / meeting and bring others with you. We all know what it’s like to have no one show up to a game night / meeting but we can support each other, we’re all in this together How to handle Harassment Unfortunately in the online world, sometimes we may fall prey to toxic individuals' continuous harassment. If you are a victim of harassment, either presently or in the future. Please take screenshots of the offenses, block the individuals. Then, report it to your respective Chain of Command and please allow our leaders to work on these offenses diligently. Being a Community in a Community While all divisions are working diligently to improve their squads, it's important to remember what makes KSI unique. Our compassion and attention to detail to all of our members, we need to constantly remind ourselves that our success is only limited to our aspiring PVT’s and up. If we take care of them and develop a personal connection to our members, then our members will take care of us in return. Nominate them for our forums awards, ask them how their day is going, be there for them. This is how we will generate more interest that our divisional staff can use to enhance their atmospheres. Officer Ratio: One of the biggest aspects of growing a squad is developing and teaching new officers that will grow through the ranks and be the next generation of leaders. Please ensure that you are actively searching for and teaching SGT’s that want to move up and be an officer within their respective squads. We as leaders need to strive to provide our officers and potential officers an avenue to discuss questions, ideas, concerns etc to help ensure they are not losing motivation and being burnt out. Gameplan ideas with your directors, 7’s staff members as well as generals on ideas to help find the next generation of officers. New Community Standards: There are new and exciting changes on the criteria to join KSI. To join KSI, here are the new requirements: 1. 1000 Gamerscore is required for membership. 2. There is no longer a requirement for how many friends are needed to join KSI. 3. The applicant needs to have 30 days of activity on the profile to be accepted in. Online Status: Please remember that we are an active gaming community that thrives on the ability to communicate and game with each other. This is difficult to do if you appear offline for days at a time or all the time. We ask that you only appear offline if a family member or someone other than yourself is on your XBOX or your on LOA. Abusing the appearing offline option can result in you being deemed inactive or hinder your ability to be a successful member/leader within the community. Conflict Resolution: KSI uses a rank structure for our members to use in times where getting communication out is vital. With that being said, when there are bumps in the road, little problems like he/she/ said’s are brought up. It needs to be reported to the next person in your direct chain of command, to prevent more problems for arriving in the future. Member Retention -Member Retention is something that should be demonstrated in our everyday runnings as an officer and leader of this division no matter if it's an old or new member at the end of the day they mean just as much as anybody else here. Utilizing Resources -When we all look at the bigger picture of the division one thing comes to mind utilizing resources that haven't been utilized in a while which is the rank of SGT and below Cross Squad Game Nights -The cross squad game nights will be running every two weeks with the 7s Staff hosting and an Officer From Each Squad Recognizing Chain of Command -Make sure when handling an issue, that you bring it the appropriate leader within the chain of command. For example, if you need a Co-Founder for something and one is not online, feel free to reach out to the other one before attempting to go to the Division Leader. United Front: -All of us are here in the community for one reason, to have people to play with. During these tough times, it is important to reach out to your squadmates and ensure that everyone is having fun and gaming. KSI HARLEYGIRL Notes: Went over the new objectives to be implemented, into the squad. Talked about the recruiting parties decided to do them twice a week so we can get all the officers involved. Talked about the need to bring more people into our family, to help us grow. KSI Majesty Notes: Majesty talked about the 7’s staff taking over the Cross Squad game nights, that they are moving to hosting them every other week and they will choose what game at the start of the game night and they will choose a different cohost officer from each squad. She also talked about the importance of recruiting and that she help us in hosting our recruiting parties each week. KSI Gruntier Notes: Gruntier pretty much just went over the 5 newly added processes to the squad and touched on the additional 5 things that will be added each week.
